I'm creating a homebrew item, tied to a homebrew monster (it's a gag ring, with a wink to a series). The monster in question is a Huge Panda Bear (link for mods), but it tells me it "is currently too similar to Polar Bear (10-05 Strong) to share with the community." and the link to that "Polar Bear (10-05 Strong)" goes nowhere (as you can see if you click on it).
If I had to assume, I'd say it's supposed to be the Huge Polar Bear from Yawning Portal? But comparing them, mine has different AC, different HP and hit dice, different speed, different ability scores (that devolves in different initiative, different perception and different attack and damage), different senses, and different CR. Yes, the actions and special traits are the same, because it continues to be a bear (so keen senses, and bite and claw multiattack).
I already changed HP and hit dice, AC, ability scores (adjusting HP, attack, damage, initiative and perception accordingly), speed, and CR and I always get the same error message.
You probably used the same list of Special Traits and Actions common to all of the official bears, namely Keen Smell, Multiattack, Bite, and Claws. Am I right? So it’s those monsters with which your homebrew is too similar. There’s a known bug that occasionally posts the name of a homebrewed monster (often unpublished) instead of an official one when it throws that error message. If you add or remove a Special Trait or Action so as to truly differentiate your monster it should become publishable.
Yes, as I said in the OG post, I kept the typically bear characteristics the same as every other single bear, because well, it's a bear after all xD
And yes, that did it, thank you very much. It was as easy as to renaming "Claws" into "Claw", which is just bizarre considering I had modified the "actions" section several times, by tweaking the values of the attacks based on the ability scores modifications. Attacks are extremely repeated throughout the game, bears being just one of many examples of a bunch of monsters having the same exact list (with different values), so I never thought that was going to be the problem (as, again, I had already modified them) when everything else was so different.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks again, and have a panda
