As the title says. Thieves tools SHOULD be listed as Artisan tools but are instead listed as a musical instrument.
I created my dndbeyond app battle-master fighter, who learns at level 3, 'students of war' which you can choose 1 of any Artisan's tools. I thought for sure thieves set would be in there, Yet it is not listed as an option. To my surprise it was listed in the musical instrument list.
Are thieves tools designed to be played like an instrument, or is this a bug?
Thieves' tools are “tools,” but they are not “artisans tools.” They are instead listed among the other tools including the disguise kit, forgery kit and all of the various musical instruments and gaming sets. Please see the images below in the spoiler:
