My friend, TheFriendlyArchfey, can't post anymore. He was able to send me a PM, but he cannot post again and can only edit his original PM.
This started earlier after some posts by him (now deleted by my friend in an attempt to fix the issue) on a thread called "The Universe Smörgåsbord" on Adohand's Kitchen were labeled as being from December 18th, 2024.
I'm not sure what caused this, but I want to make sure the mods know that this has happened.
Edit: Another one of my friends, who also had "future posts," RoughCoronet0, cannot post on their account either.
There are several other accounts that have the same problem, they all have a last logged in date of December 18th, 2024.
Seems like it occurred sometime around 3:00am CST. And it has not only affected active posters, a few others that are staying quiet have also had their accounts blocked by the odd event.
DM of the game we had been playing had to use emergency contact information to let us know something was wrong.
If this is how DDB is going to do business from now on, I would like to know what is being done to prevent this from happening again?
Disruptions are one thing, but whatever is going on at DDB end is another thing.

My guess is the servers are having a hard time keeping up with both the influx of posters coming to express anger at the plan to remove 2014 spells and magic items and the influx of people suddenly creating a lot of homebrew copies of 2014 spells and magic items.
I also noticed that notifications were not showing up which is something I've seen other times where some threads have been significantly more active than usual.

I asked if they knew how all this might turn out after seeing the date, all i got was “if you have a lick of sense, run don’t walk, but run as fast as possible away.”
No idea if they were messing around, but it does seem to be something to do with the site getting twitchy as of late. Hopefully this clears up soon, and someone can fix it promptly.
My main also can’t post, or even message others. For whatever reason the system misread a cookie or a change on the backend happened to set some account users “Last Date online: ?????” To wildly different dates.
I got December 18th, 2024.
While I don’t know how the new PHB rollout was received, the fact that because of that date, the system is acting like the account is constantly stuck on a certain message that had been sent, and has glitched the timestamp for them causing the last on time keeping algorithm to spasticity go mental.
A site wide reset, or a quick reset of last online timer might help. With the 4 hour update in roughly 14hours and 30mins I certainly hope the Admins can forward this bug repot to the team working on tomorrow mornings update.
Edit: not too sure if update will occur due to banner disappearing, placed ticket just to cover the issue if the update has been delayed. Fingers crossed for all affected that this matter will be resolved.
Tickets usually take 3 weeks to be responded to, and with the events recently it might be longer. Best thing is to wait, as any trying to push it more resets the ticket to end of line.
3 weeks.........wow........ok, alt-account and discord it is then....I get angry emails if it takes me more than an hour to get to raised tickets at work...admittedly much smaller volume. ;)
Whatever happened on the 25th continues to wreak havoc, not only on these affected accounts, but also post notifications, email notifications, etc.
There was a significant uptick in forum and homebrew activity following an unpopular announcement on how DDB was going to handle spells/magic items with the 5.5 PHB coming out. While the unpopular portion of that announcement has since been walked back, the forums are presumably still suffering from that increased load.
I've noticed delayed notifications before when some subforums were more active than usual. So I'm guessing that's the correlation.

Has anyone heard anything?
The first thing anyone will notice is when the problem suddenly resolves itself. If you’re still observing the problem, then nobody will have heard anything yet.

Or alternately, it'd be great if the nice people at D&D Beyond told us what's going on and what to expect.
Why is it assumed that D&DB must remain silent until they fix a bug? Shouldn't they tell their customers that they acknowledge a problem and are taking steps to resolve it? Isn't this what most companies do?
It's counterintuitive. If they appear to ignore it (or actually ignore it - who knows?), they will just get buried in tickets and complaints, won't they? That doesn't help anyone.
Glad this thread is here! Yes, TheFriendlyArchfey has not been able to post since the incident, and has had to resort to self made PM's and editing the first post in the to communicate. RoughCoronet0 also cannot post, and has had to make an alternative account! Please someone give us something to look forward to to fixing this problem!
And cbaer8, I agree, but I will say that have a lot of stuff to go through as many people are posting. I am sure it is hard to manage it all. They definitely should try and say something! But we have to have a little grace too 😁 I know you understand this probably.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I have made a huge homebrew setting that I am still working on putting here in DDB. Please give me feedback, I want to know all of what I am doing wrong, and what I am doing right. The thread is a huge work in progress, so everything in it from content to layout is subject to change. Please check this forum:Welcome to Zionderia
Also I have a fun thread that explores an idea about dreams based off the movie Inception. I still need to add the link but stay tuned.
So...........all my Master Tier Subscription stuff is now locked to an account that can't do much of anything........getting more than a little peeved with still no answer on any of the PMs, Email, Ticket etc. that I've lodged.

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

First I saw posts tagged as Nov 9th 2024, two months in the future. And now a last logged in date of Dec 18 2024, 4 months in the future?
DDB isn't broken. It's made a scientific breakthrough. TIME TRAVEL, BABY!

I can confirm this has happened to another user I PM with semi regularly.

Unfortunately I am still unable to make posts on my regular account. I’m really hoping tomorrows update will fix this issue.

I'm in the same boat with my usual account and as I'm running a number of PbPs this really isn't ideal.....
Has anyone had a response to their raised ticket yet? I know they're busy with a lot of stuff currently....

Anything new on this since the maintenance update?
My accounts still buggered.

Still can’t post with my main account, on top of the notification issues.
