Small update that I forgot yesterday: I also logged in to my account on a Fire tablet and had the same issue. I believe that eliminates the device and OS version as a root cause (unless it's Android in general causing the problem, not a specific release). On a Pixel 8 Pro, regular app installation and Private Space app installation + Fire tablet, the only commonality is my account.
It may be something to do with content sharing?? I disabled all sharing and my players could again manage inventory, although I couldn't on my device, either for characters in the adventure or those not.
I am also experiencing the same problem, when using the App on an Android phone I click Manage Inventory and get the error after some time of "We could not load the list of items"
When I use the web browser I can manage my inventory. I could manage my inventory on my phone previously and this has occurred in the last couple of months.
I use an Android phone Google Pixel 6 Pro now on Android 15 and had the issue on the previous build. Dndbeyond app is on version 2.66
I have signed out of my account on the app, cleared the cache, cleared the data, uninstalled the app, restarted the phone, reinstalled the app, loaded only the DM Manual, Player Handbook, and Free Rules (2024). I've also done the above and loaded no books. I still get the same error.
+1 I and my players have been having this exact issue for a few weeks. I made a separate issue before finding this one. But yeah, it's still a problem.
Same issue, local to characters, I own all but like 2 or 3 books. Haven't figured out what the issue is exactly but can confirm it has to do with characters in a campaign which has or had content sharing enabled (at least for me), and characters made post purchase and downloading of the 2024 books, I have tried messing with homebrew stuff, adding and removing public and personal homebrew items and that made no difference 👍
I think I might have figured out the DnD beyond inventory issue. It seems to be related to a conflict in the item looks up for the database API check. Basically it's looking for something that isn't there. Near as I can tell this is related to the 2024 update. IF a character was created with 2014 rules AND using any 2024 content then it's getting stuck. Weirdly it seems using pre 2024 content on a 2024 character can also trigger it. If you use ONLY 2024 or 2014 it seems to work fine. I know it's a pain to recreate a new character with everything but it might be a temporary solution. Even removing the mixed content on a character doesn't seem to fix the issue.

So them forcing 2024 content on us, is again messing it up for the players. I don't even see why we need new versions of some of the items that have been done zero change to

i made a 2014 fighter and used 2024 background (guard), 2024 human (2024 musician feat) and not getting any issues.
So, it does not appear to be related to "mixed content", at least for me.

I created one of their pre-made characters, the human rogue, and immediately went to the inventory, and it still doesn't work. I searched through the character sheet, and I don't see any mixed content. It's certainly a good thought, but if it's mixed content then some of it must be really hard to find.
Update: I created a very minimal character with nothing but a race (human, free rules) and rogue (free rules), and again for dwarf (free rules) and barbarian (free rules). Inventory was still broke for both of these characters.
Interestingly, I did find a work around:
"ADD ITEM" UNDER THE "EQUIPMENT" TAB IN THE CHARACTER BUILDER STILL WORKS FOR ALL CHARACTERS.
Me and friends have this issue as well and we have realized its only on characters in a campaign, if they are not in a campaign it works
That would suggest somebody has homebrew items that the system struggles to load. Does anyone have homebrew items in their collection with unusual names (like the names contain symbols or something)?

I had the same thought and scoured my homebrew collection for special names and didn't find anything. I also created a sandbox character with Homebrew unchecked and that didn't resolve the issue.
Also, players in my campaigns, that have access to all of my homebrew collection, don't have this issue.
I have tried turning off all homebrew (in fact I turned off all options in the character settings) and for some reason every character I make still can't access the in app inventory management (have to edit on website). However, all of my players in my content sharing enabled campaigns can still access inventory management. Its something specific to my phone as I can access it on my ipad (though it has the calibration wheel issue whenever I use the dndbeyond app, so I cant use that as my primary device). Still not sure how to fix it as clearing cache, re-installing app, etc all do nothing to fix the issue either.
Alright so here's what I've discovered based on messages I've read in this thread and doing quite a bit of testing and troubleshooting myself.
For starters, every player at our table who uses an Android device has been having this issue. I have a Google Pixel 8 Pro, another player has a Samsung Galaxy S21, and two other players have phones that I don't know the models of. The two people with iPhones do not have this issue.
We have homebrew, content sharing, third party content, and both 2014 and 2024 content enabled. We are also in multiple campaigns, with different players being members of different campaigns, and characters assigned appropriately for the different DMs. I also have old characters in old campaigns that I haven't wiped, which has helped a lot with information gathering. Most of these campaigns have content sharing enabled, all with different DMs. I also created an empty campaign with only some of my characters.
Disclaimer: These are my own experiences done with my own tests across the campaigns and players I have access to. I am not claiming this is comprehensive. I have performed the below tests using new (today), semi-new (months to a year or two), and old (circa 2018) characters. If you wish to perform your own tests, BE CAREFUL which characters you move around, as this can affect items, feats, or other things they may have due to content sharing or homebrew. I recommend COPYING any character and moving ONLY the copy around, just in case.
So here's what I've discovered. If your mileage varies, let me know:
Only characters in campaigns have inventory issues. This does not affect all campaigns.
Characters outside of campaigns do not have the inventory issue. If a character in a campaign has an inventory issue and leaves the campaign, the issue goes away.
Any and all characters added to campaigns without the inventory issue do not develop the issue, regardless of whether these characters have all optional content enabled.
Similarly, any and all characters added to campaigns with the inventory issue develop the issue, still regardless of optional content.
Campaigns can have the inventory issue or not, regardless of when they were created, how many players/characters are in them, or whether content sharing is enabled or not.
Testing all of the variables I could think of, I've narrowed it down to this: only the campaigns that all share one specific player in the have the inventory issue. All others appear to be clean, despite their differences from each other or their similarities to the campaigns with this one player. Unsurprisingly, it is the player who most enjoys Homebrew content and is known around our tables as the heaviest character optimizer/power gamer.
I may be wrong in my hunch. There's a lot to consider and I very possibly could be missing something. I have invited the players all to a test campaign in the hopes that I can make the issue manifest and then start removing their characters one at a time to see if the problem goes away with each deletion, leaving just the suspected player and one (hopefully) "clean" player as a control. If all goes according to plan, hopefully I can get him to go through his homebrew content and remove anything that seems problematic or unnecessary.

Some of what you described seems contrary to my findings. The issue might be different for each of us, or per device, but for the character's you've made where you can't access the inventory, did you possibly make them in a different campaign? Or are they campaignless?

I wasn't aware of this issue until a player mention it yesterday and I discovered the same issue was present for my Pixel 8a (256 GB model).
I have so far tried to reinstall the app, clearing the cache and restart the phone, yet the issue is still present.

Is there any solution or dev to comment on this?
I'm experiencing this problem too. I submitted a support ticket and linked to this post.
I did as well. My support rep said that their dev team would work on it and deliver a fix, no further action that I could take.

I don't think they are ever going to fix it. They don't care. They constantly show that
