Created a custom homebrew subclass and getting the following message:
This Subclass cannot be shared with the community for the following reasons:
The Pugilist is currently too similar to Circle of Spores to share with the community.
This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required levels.
Remember, private homebrew is automatically shared with other users in your campaigns and does not need to be shared with the community for players to access.
Here is the actual homebrew text. The modifiers and such added directly reflect what I typed here. Don't see how this is remotely close to circle of spores.
The Pugilist eschews weapons in favor of powerful unarmed blows and the use of improvised weapons. They are brutal Fighters, using muscle and brawn to overcome their foes when some would rely on Finesse.
Unarmored Defense
While you are not wearing any armor, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Strength modifier + your Dexterity modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain Proficiency in Strength (Athletics) ability checks and improvised weapons.
Brawler
Your rough and tumble life has honed your fists into deadly weapons. Beginning at 3rd level, You have mastered the art of pummeling your foes into submission. You gain the following benefits:
You can roll 1d6 in place of you normal unarmed strike or improvised weapon damage. This damage increases to 1d8 at 5th level, 1d10 at 11th level, and 1d12 at 17th level.
While you are not wearing armor, your speed is increased by 10 feet.
While you are not wielding weapons or wearing armor, you gain resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. You do not gain this benefit if you are surprised or incapacitated.
Unarmed Fighting Style
At 3rd level, you can choose an unarmed fighting style to utilize in combat.
Grappling
You can attempt to grapple a creature as a bonus action on your turn. If a creature would provoke an attack of opportunity from you, you can use your reaction to attempt to grapple them. Finally, you have advantage on attack rolls against creatures you a grappling.
Improvisation
When you are the target of an attack, you can attempt to forcibly place another creature in harm’s way. As a reaction, you can choose a creature within 5 feet of you to swap places with. You make a Strength([skill]Athletics[/skill) check opposed to their Strength ([skill]Athletics[/skill) or Dexterity([skill]Acrobatics[/skill) check. On a success, you switch places with the target and the attack is instead resolved against that creature.
Striking
Your unarmed strikes & improvised weapons score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20. At 15th level, they score a critical hit on a roll of 18-20.
Fists of Fury
At 7th level, you double your Proficiency bonus on Strength (Athletics) checks. Additionally, your unarmed strikes & improvised weapon attacks now count as magical for the purpose of overcoming damage resistances.
Devastating Blows
At 10th level, when you roll damage for a Brawler Maneuver or an unarmed strike, you can reroll any die that displays a 1 or 2; you can do this once per roll. When you score a critical hit against a target with an unarmed strike or improvised weapon, that creature is Stunned until the end of its next turn.
Preeminent Brawler
At 15th level, when you roll a Strength (Athletics) check to attempt to grapple or resist a grapple, you treat any roll on the d20 of 9 or lower as a 10. When you move while grappling a creature, your speed is not halved.
Undaunted Champion
At 20th level, you have honed your physique beyond the limits of what's normal for your race. You gain a +2 bonus to your Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores and their maximums.
Made it for my group but wanted to share it with the community.
Ok, so that addresses the level thing, but why does it keep saying it's too similar to circle of spores? They're nowhere close, and it's damn annoying.
Yeah you keep posting this reply... shame it doesn't answer the question. Good news for anyone else with this problem. 1 potential fix is to just create an entirely new subclass and copy-paste everything. Worked for me first try.
It's just some dumb bug with DnDBeyond, and it isn't anything wrong with your subclass design (most likely). I have 2 copies of the same subclass where everything is EXACTLY the same. One has these stupid bugs preventing it from being published, and the other works just fine lol.

It actually does, if you consult the first post. Expand General Homebrew FAQ & Basic Troubleshooting, then scroll to the bottom where it says My homebrew says it cannot be published because of one of the following errors: The circle of spores error is explained there.

Ω. My homebrew says it cannot be published because of one of the following errors:
“This homebrew Subclass does not have the necessary class features with the correct required level.”
“This homebrew has text that includes Non-english Language.” / “This homebrew Subclass is too similar to Circle of Spores.”
“This homebrew has data mapped to it that is licensed content or private homebrew. This typically occurs when licensed or private homebrew spells are linked.”
“This homebrew has text that includes External Links.”
“This homebrew Race has been set to have subraces, but no subraces have been created.”
Whenever you add anything to, change anything on, or remove anything from any homebrew, you MUST re-save the entire project using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information.
The system only checks those compliances when that main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information has been hit.
It is not enough to have features at all the correct levels. (You can have multiple features at each level.) There must also not be any features at any other levels. (The one exception is that a 3rd level feature is required for Druid subclasses for no obvious reason.) Please check the Creating Subclasses Guide to determine which levels you need for your subclass.
Those error messages are usually an indicator that the description is too short. Make sure the description is long enough and then re-save.
Not all PHB spells are Free Content, the only official spells acceptable for publishing content are from the SRD & Basic Rules, and the EEPC and can be found on this list: “Free Content Spells.” Any spells attached to your homebrew that are not on that list are the problem.
There may be some hidden links in the html from a copy/paste. Highlight the description(s), Cut/Paste the content into a “snippet” field to scrub it of hidden code. Then you can highlight the clean text, and Cut/Paste it back into the description. Fix your formatting and [SAVE CHANGES].
As stated above, the system only checks those compliances when the main [SAVE CHANGES] button under Basic Information is hit. You must have saved/created the race after checking the “Will Have Subraces” box, but must not have re-saved the race after you created the subraces. That’s what triggers that error. Simply re-save the base race using the main [SAVE CHANGES] button and the system will recheck for compliance.
Reminders:
You do not need to publish your homebrews to use them. All homebrew in Your Homebrew Collection is automatically made available to every character in every DDB campaign you are in.
You cannot edit or delete Homebrew that you have shared with the community. “Published is permanent.” For your own benefit, take time to thoroughly playtest and edit all content prior to publishing it.
All you did by creating a second copy and copy/pasting everything was retrigger a compliance check.
Because it is a bug with DnDBeyond and not anything wrong with the subclass. Look at the argument you just made:
"All you did by creating a second copy and copy/pasting everything was retrigger a compliance check."
Yes, so IT IS THE EXACT SAME IN EVERY WAY, except the second time it worked for literally NO APPARENT REASON??? Sure sounds like a bug with DnDBeyond to me <_>
Except I literally copy pasted the entire subclass into a new template, so it is the EXACT SAME in both. Yet it is publishable in 1, but not the other.
So no that link doesn't provide any fixes for the issue when it is an outright bug in DnDBeyond (how else could two identical copies have different outcomes).
In fact, there seems to be over 5 years worth of forum threads on this exact issue, every single one of which has posts explicitly stating how these fixes didn't work for them (the exact same situation for me). How do I know? I looked through them all and tried these fixes.

Except she didn't. How is this so hard to understand. If it is copy pasted THE EXACT SAME in both versions, with one working and the other not working...
How can the issue be "Those error messages are usually an indicator that the description is too short. Make sure the description is long enough and then re-save." IT IS THE SAME IN BOTH...
And just to prove a point I literally had the EXACT SAME ISSUE with my most recent subclass, and use the EXACT SAME FIX.
Anyway, I'm done with this thread lol. I found a fix that actually works, and if anyone is running into the same issue I was give it a try. Hopefully it works for you to when these other fixes don't.

What IS the Circle of Spores? That's my question.
A druid subclass first printed in Ravnica and later reprinted in Tasha's.
Oooooooh. I should look it up sometime.
Ok, so that addresses the level thing, but why does it keep saying it's too similar to circle of spores? They're nowhere close, and it's damn annoying.
I'm having the exact same issue. My subclass is nothing like circle of Spores? What is causing this issue and how do we resolve it. https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/23242-creating-subclasses-guide doesn't answer the question.

it is because there isn't a proper description (it is too short)
Btw the copy pasting doesn't work for me
Why for cleric is the first level at 2 WHEN YOU GET A SUBCLASS AT LEVEL 3
Subclasses are granted at level 1 for 2014 Clerics, and at level 3 for 2024 Clerics.
