I'm trying to create a weapon to add to a characters sheet to represent their use of Magic Stone. If I show magic stone as an attack it shows up as a bonus action as thats the spell casting modifier, so that doesn't help.
If I create a sling, there is no way to change the damage die, if I create it as a shortbow it has the right damage die and I can change the type, but the range is wrong.
In the modifiers there is a property to add a Ranged Weapon Attack, which looks like it should work, except I can't figure out what that actually does. I've added it to a wonderous item and to a sling and neither show any difference.
Make it as a feat with a custom action to represent the attack. We cannot alter base damage or range for a weapon, and magic items cannot add actions. But a feat can add an action and you can make it exactly the way you need to reproduce the spell effect.
Of course, you could also add a custom action directly to the character sheet too. That would be the easiest way, but you would have to do it for every character sheet, but a feat could be made once and added as many times as needed.

Thanks, a feat seems like a good idea. I tried adding it as a custom action, but that doesn't let you modify the to-hit bonus, despite being able to edit that for all other items. As good as DnDBeyond is, there are some strange holes in implimentation.
