Doss lute is a a wondrous item that is uncommon. with it, My bard can cast a bunch of spells once until the next sunrise. up to seven of them. Under 'spells' in D&D beyond there is a usage sheet that i can click on (just like other spells) that has an x/7. 'x' being the number of times i've used it. once i've used all seven, the red button to cast it turns grey and i can no longer cast use it. great.
But how do i reset it? It doesn't reset when using the long rest or short rest controls, and i don't see a way to manually reset them.
Is there a way to manually reset these that i haven't found? or is there a way to control time passage in D&D Beyond campaigns that i don't know about, that might reset them automatically at at the next dawn? perhaps something only the DM/campaign initiator has access to? I assume this would be useful for other things as well, like deity blessings that renew at dawn.
Just to clarify, i understand how Doss lute works. i just don't know how to reset its uses in D&D Beyond website. Does anyone know how to do this?
Magic item charges don’t refresh on either of the “rest” buttons because they don’t recharge on rests, they recharge at dawn. A long rest could be from 9am to 5pm, and dawn didn’t happen. They haven’t added a “dawn” button yet because I think their plan is to put that under DM control when they get the dashboard running as pert of their development towards a proprietary “Virtual Game Space,” or whatever they’re calling it instead of a VTT. After all, the DM decides when the sun comes up.
IamSposta- Ahhh... thanks. that makes sense. i thought it might be a DM thing, but it's good to know that the control doesn't exist yet. I guess i can stop driving myself crazy looking for controls that don't exist. lol. back to the old pen and paper it is then!
Go to the "Equipment" tab on the character, click "Doss Lute", at the top of the pop out that comes up for the item are the charges, which are all marked off with the red dot inside of them because they're used, for however many charges you will be recovering you need to click those same boxes.

You just tap the boxes again to refresh them.

You don’t need pen and paper, you just tap/click the box again and it un-uses the charge. There doesn’t need to be a button at all.

hmmm... clicking the box again just brings up the info sheet for the spell for me. I tried on my desktop computer and phone app. :/
Not the place where it says “1 charge,” but the actual little box itself.
Post a link to your character sheet so someone can look at it for you.
