Human. Male. Possibly. Don't be a divider. My characters' backgrounds are written like instruction manuals rather than stories. My opinion and preferences don't mean you're wrong. No?” will be my epitaph.
French! Doesn't have to be perfect... Just started new campain with family and its already a challenge to bring them to the minimum level of understanding of the game and its dynamics, rules, etc. It would help much to remove the language barrier when it comes to D&D Beyond.
Hopefully, something is expected to address the multiple language option anytime soon.
Up until about a year ago, WotC licensed all of the translations to 3rd party companies for physical books. WotC did not do them in-house. So there were very likely licensing issue with respect to translated copies on D&D Beyond. For example WotC did not own the copyright to the Spanish edition of 5e. Some other company did.
So it was only last year when this would have even started to be a possibility.
I am not expecting any significant site upgrades until D&D One launches in 2024, as that will be a huge resource sink. But now that WotC owns DDB, this should be legally possible.
J'espère que l'on aura la bonne nouvelle un jour... Mais quoi qu'il en soit, quelle que soit mon envie, je ne pourrai jamais souscrire à un abonnement en Anglais, car il me serait impossible de jouer.
(I'll never subscribe in English, because it should be impossible for me to play)
Finally, the ability to switch from English/French in google with translation function is usefull. May be adding google translate in the D&D Beyond tablet app could be... very nice !
And why not create an audio live translator for 'in play' games, with A.I, translating audio to text, and with a simple button to play audio ?
Hello there,
Just a little message to ask for access to DnDB in French. Thank you and good day.
I recommend checking out this feedback thread.

However, last summer WotC bought back the rights for some languages: https://dnd.wizards.com/news/expanding-dnd

C'est bien dommage de ce couper des rolistes francophone surtout avec l'avènement des IA capable de de faire des traductions correctes.
It's a shame to cut off French-speaking role players, especially with the advent of AI capable of making correct translations.
Is there any work in progress about a french version ?
This app is a wonderfull tool and it could be easier to convert new players with it, but english is a barrier for a lot of person...
