I really want to run my party through a ravenloft adventure using the new Survivor characters in Van Richtens, but there's no easy way to do it using the character creator.
I can write in stats manually, and I have the survivor talents homebrewed as feats (that players could select at levels 2&3).
The issue is that the character creator MANDATES a class, and every class is too powerful to be a milquetoast "survivor" - even at level one. Even if I homebrewed them as subclasses, many classes can't choose a sub until level three - again, sort of OP for a "survivor".
I’d use a monster stat block. The only things you need to change as you play are current health and charges of Cure Wounds/Grease+Burning Hands and limited use level up perks. You might want to make the higher levels after your players pick them, instead of premaking all the possible combinations.

Any other ideas?
Monster stat blocks? That’s how I do sidekicks, but those sidekicks are companions to regular characters.
