D&D Beyond is composed of multiple teams that work in parallel. The team that designs character sheet customisation is not the same team as the mobile team, or the team that works on character sheet functionality. There's no prioritisation of one over the other, they're working concurrently to make best use of the teams.
Yeah, I get that. I'm a software engineer, so I get how that works. I also know that you have to set priorities. Do you hire a new senior developer to work on the platform or do you expand your team that is working on animated character image frames and digital dice? When you're planning your annual budget you need to allocate resources. They may work independently, but they are not independent.
if people are really clamoring over the dice, I get it, but if all of those developers instead worked in something useful, like a user-facing api, we’d have a much better experience and way better value. maybe a team that’s is dedicated to fixing the non-functional features?
You’re always going to have to make choices. When you guys are planning them, please take this as a negative vote for Digital Dice, backgrounds, etc.
@ Erik_Soong I'm speaking for myself. These are personal opinions. Hence, first-person pronouns.
Yes, I am aware. My comment was made to point out the silliness of demanding company-wide changes to serve your individual needs. Especially when those demands are not overly compelling. There are clearly people on this site that want the stuff you think is ‘bullshit’ and with demand comes the allocation of resources. It makes no business sense to move resources away from those people who are spending money to serve the needs of a single person who apparently is going to spend money either way, albeit with a lot of unhelpful complaining.
Hear hear, I remember it took forever to implement the Dragonmarked Houses properly, there are things that could be so much more intuitive & smooth. My guess is they're prioritizing what actually earns revenue, not what improves the experience, capitalism after all...

That is not how things work in real life. Do you really expect dentists to work alongside surgeons to speed up life saving heart surgeries? That is no different here. Some developers focus on coding, others focus on graphics, others focus on quality control or whatever, etc. You cannot just move people around ignoring their skills and specialties.
Even if they are allocating more resources to making more dice and cosmetics, the profit from those things help fund the development of main features.

To be fair, this is the feedback section. He wants D&D Beyond to prioritize differently when allocating resources. There's nothing "unfair" about that at all. They can simply decide to not comply, which is also fair.

Nothing in my posts suggested that this was the inappropriate place for feedback.
I don’t care about any of it. Same with the mobile app that isn’t even at feature parity.
the web app is feeling more buggy, and there are long-standing features that don’t work.
I don’t subscribe because of animated bullshit for my character sheet. I want to play D&D. Can we prioritize that, please.
