This forum is so long I have no idea if anyone has put in the request for item notes. you may have a +1 dagger but your DM has included item description or back story, maybe it has a name. It would be nice to be able to have a note section on items for more detailed information.
As a DM, I create a homebrew item with a unique name. Copy from +1 dagger and then add all the notes so it is permanent for the character.

The larger issue is that they've used the focus on the character sheet redesign as the reason they haven't been able to implement other things yet that are also lacking. Well, the character sheet redesign is taking too long. People can be polite and say it takes as long as it takes, but that isn't how business works and it isn't how software development works either. You can't just indefinitely tell people that it takes as long as it takes, clients won't accept that answer. It isn't done that way between most devs and clients at major companies. Regardless of what I might think about it, WOTC can be as pleased as they like with the progress or lack thereof, but they'll eventually be unhappy as the platform lacks adoption based on this stagnation. End users have expectations. It isn't being rude or mean to express dissatisfaction with the lack of progress.

I am either missing a key piece of information or you and I have very different ideas of what is and is not acceptable in software development. It sounds like you are saying that (as of this post) 27 days without a software update is too long for clients to wait for software developments (based on the date of the Hombrew Sublcasses Changelog). I would hardly call going a month between software developments stagnation. Again, there may be a piece of information that I'm missing and you have, but, based on what information I do have, the idea that updates/developments in DDB are "stagnant" is a bit hyperbolic. While I would absolutely love it if everything I wanted out of DDB was available right now, I don't think their pace is too slow. Perhaps we just got spoiled with the every 7-10 days pace they set at the beginning.

Nothing you say here has any basis in reality. There is no 'larger issue'. Hartless has said that they work on multiple things at the same time. Different teams I'm guessing, probably with different skill sets. It's also not 'taking too long' because we literally know almost none of the parameters for what the character sheet revamp is and therefore what exactly is required; for all we know, it could be going at a lightning pace. Point being is that you're not on the dev team, you're not privy to the details that matter in this kind of adjudication, you're just speculating and inserting your own biases. And it is most definitely 'how business' and 'software' works; especially in the development business. This also isn't a client relationship: WotC haven't commissioned DDB to do anything, it is solely DDB doing it for their own purposes and benefit and they'll take how long they need to take to get it done. WotC won't be pleased or displeased about anything, they have very little at all to do with DDB aside from negotiating requirements of compliance and permissions and perhaps some suggestions here or there. And then there's the accusation of 'stagnation'; I'm sorry, what? I've been following the development from the very beginning and from what I've seen, they hardly even slowed down over CHRISTMAS, with constant updates, feedback, adjustments, improvements, new features, etc. How you can possibly think they've stagnated is just wildly beyond my ken.
End user expectations are only relevant to DDB and their continuing viability, and from all accounts I've heard or read, they're doing pretty darn well for themselves, so they must be satisfying a pretty significant majority. As for being rude, well, you've made gross assumptions based on zero factual evidence and then made accusations of, essentially, laziness and incompetence; I'd say that qualifies as being rude.
AFAIC, as much as I want more features, with the character sheet revamp being pretty high on my personal list, if the site doesn't change from today until 6e is released, I'll still be happy with my Legendary Bundle and still pay a Master Tier sub, because what it currently delivers to me is most definitely worth it for me. Everything after today is, for me, thick, syrupy, silky, luscious, delicious, rich and hearty gravy.

I couldn't agree more. Based on the sneak previews we've seen of the new character sheet, I'm blown away by how quickly they're making progress on what is actually an insanely complex job. Look at how long it has taken Google to update the Gmail interface, and what little is actually gained despite their almost limitless resources. D&D is actually freaking complex when you look at all the variables and how they combine. I take my hat off to Curse.
if we could get a bit back on topic about ideas for the new character sheet etc. I haven't seen any of the previews yet. anyone have a link. I am interested to see if any of the great ideas that have been posted have been implemented.
I play a druid in one of my games. I find it increasingly difficult to deal with my Wild Shape due to the necessity of having to keep different animal stats on hand (or thumb through the PHB to find a creature) every time I want to change form.
This got me thinking about the upcoming D&D Beyond Character Sheets. It would be hugely awesome if there was a Wild Shape/Shape Shift/Polymorph panel built into the character sheet that slid out and offered a dynamic list of creatures (based on your druid level / CR rating of the creature) that you could choose from and it would immediately pull that creature's stats and display them. In addition to the stats being displayed, a hit point counter could be used to track that form's HP independently of your character's HP. I don't know if there will be an online dice roller built into the sheet, but if there is, it would also be handy to have the selected creature change your dice to match that creature's attack/damage rolls too.
What are your thoughts? Any other wishes regarding the upcoming D&D Character Sheet?
This is exactly what I want, with the addition of being able to add custom wildshapes that are allowed by the dm but not necessarily the RAW
I just want easy, at-a-glance access to my Spell Save DC and my Spell Attack Modifier. On the official printable character sheets, there are big boxes for those right at the top of the spell list page. But here, they're neither at the top next to speed/AC/etc, nor are they prominently displayed in the spell pane. Can we get those to show up somewhere please? Thanks!
Don't know if this is in the list, but I'd like to be able to add spells to non(traditional)-spellcaster classes. For example, I'd like for my shadow monk to have their ki-spells in a list that is in the main sheet. That's all.
I’m not sure if this has been brought up, but the ability to hot swap between weapon sets would be a great addition.
A specific example:
Fighter initially starts a fight at range using a bow. Shield bonus is disabled, giving him an 18 AC.
As enemies draw closer, clicks the swap, sword and shield are equipped, AC goes up to 20.
As the amount of enemies dwindle, fighter stows his shield and uses longsword 2-handed, AC drops to 18.
Generally, this can be done by selecting and deselecting the wield option in equipment, but the equipment section is pretty clunky. A “wield” button next to the weapon in the attacks section would clean that up and as a smart option, disable or enable a shield bonus as appropriate.
A place for animal companions/ wild shapes/ henchmen would be fantastic. Also, I find the print version of the character sheet to be lacking. It's a simplified version of the official print character sheet. My players prefer when I use the official print version of the character sheet because I can tailor it to their needs better than the DDB character sheet. Considering that I'm trying to sell all my players to DDB, I know that enhanced customizability would be a big selling point.

I agree. Having the weapons/armor that are in the inventory in the Attacks screen under an "unweilded" section and being able to equip/unequip there would be a major boon.
Have the opportunity to have some kind of vault of items and money that you are not equipped with. Or a storage option where are the common items of the group.
If the previous wish isn't possible, add the option of equip/unequip in the item list, so it doesn't count for the weight.
The possibility to add customized item in an easy way in the same way we can add a customized attack, without having to create a homebrew "magic" item previously and adding it later. So we could give it properties like weight among others.
A tracker space of expendable items or abilities, like ammunition, rations, etc.
In April's Developer Update, Badeye showed off #4 in the prototype of the new character sheet. He also said they were planning on #1, with some sort of toggle specific to coin weight, since he thought players would be surprised at how quickly coinage encumbers them. I don't remember if #1 was expected with the release of the new sheet, or sometime afterwards.

They were surprised that 10000 coins had a significant weight? Good good. *Laughs in evil DM*
I'm not sure if this was already covered in previous posts so if it was please ignore.
There are a couple things I would like to see built into the D&D Beyond character sheet.
Right now we can't track multiple levels of exhaustion in the conditions. This would be a nice addition for Barbarians that are always raging.
Keeping with the Barbarians it would be nice to have the rage increase damage on attacks added when in rage. e.g. instead of saying a rage was used, have an 'in rage' condition that increases the stats temporarily.
And a general thing I'd like to see is to be able to rearrange the sections on the screen. I would like to move sections I use a lot closer together so I don't have to scroll so much.
Thanks!

The main preview of the Character Sheet process has been given during the monthly Development update videos, on the third Friday each month.
The most recent one is April's, and the character sheet is mentioned (and shown) at 26:37: https://youtu.be/_jrf3MWsxwo?t=26m37s
Next one will likely be this Friday, the 18th. Oooooor perhaps they'll give us the sheet, rather than an updated show!
...one can dream, right? (Elves excluded)

Wow, the new sheet really does look spectacular. I am highly impressed.
