I've been hoping to see circle of the moon added recently and was disappointed to see that only what's in the "basic rules" is being included in the dnd beyond character creator, but I'm confused as to why the compendium entry for druids includes the circle of the moon (Druid) but isn't included in the character creator. It doesn't make sense for us to have access to it in the compendium, yet not include it in the character creator.
The issue is that under DnDBeyond's Basic Rules page, all the classes list both SRD and paid subclasses as available to choose from. If this page is supposed to match the SRD and Basic Rules from WoTC then they should only be listing the subclass available in the SRD or Basic Rules.
The Compendium page for Classes from the Basic Rules correctly shows only the subclasses available in the Basic Rules. This is the same for the main classes listing page as well (an end user will only have access to the subclasses which they have purchased OR access via campaign sharing).
If you are seeing Moon Druid on the druid class page, then it could be one of the following:
You have purchased compendium ONLY content, which will show in the compedium but means you will not have access in the character builder
You have access to the PHB via a campaign where sharing is enabled - this means you will see the Moon Druid in the compendium and to use it in the builder you have to create/edit the character via the campaign (rather than direct in the character builder).
In a test account that has neither paid content, nor in a campaign I can see the following under Compendium, Basic Rules, Druid - Druid Circle. It lists both moon and land, and then later only details land as it should. The same thing is on other classes, barbarian says berserker or totem.
Ahhh, if its what Tophloph posted, then this is standard - the basic rules (and SRD) do mention all the PHB options, but only offer 1 from each class. This is how WotC has the Basic Rules formatted, and thus DDB have all the PHB domains listed as well.
Ok, I can understand the reasoning. The language is a bit different between the SRD, Basic Rules, and Basic Rules Compendium. While the SRD only lists the option available in the SRD, the Basic Rules tells you to look in the Player's Handbook for the options not available in the Basic Rules. In this case the DnDBeyond page specifically says that both the land and moon are detailed at the end of the class description.
I do notice now though that the Classes page seems to phrase it better than the compendium page.
Some examples, I will use Cleric and Druid since Druid doesn't appear in the WotC Basic Rules SRD Cleric/Divine Domain - Choose one domain related to your deity, such as Life. Ok, but I DID purchase the player's handbook and in the marketplace it says I have the content unlocked, and yet, Circle of the Moon is still not a circle in my dropdown list, only the land options are listed

Ok, I own PHB, refreshed cache, verified I have the content ... but still see no drop down to create Circle of the Moon when creating a Druid ... where is it?
I tried at multiple levels ... it never shows up :/ The only Circle that actually shows up is if you select Grave Domain ... then Circle of Mortality shows ... but never anything else
Grave Domain is a Cleric subclass, and should not be visible on the Druid character creation page. Circle of Mortality is not a subclass, so must be homebrew. Can you confirm that what you purchased of the PHB was the full sourcebook ($29.99) and not the compendium ($19.99)? The compendium is basically a read-only version of the book and doesn't interact with the character creator.
Crap ... MY fault ... I mean CLERIC for everything ...said Druid by mistake :/ ... But still same issue. As for confirmation, yes ... full book ... even scrolling down to Circle of the Moon, it says "you own this" ... again, fault for saying Druid when I meant Cleric. And not only my browser, because another friend is trying to build his Cleric and can't find it ... that's what brought this up
Holy monkey farts .... this is what I get when trying to help others. They were asking about Clerics, when what they meant was Druids. And I didn't follow through ... like a complete *fill in depreciative noun here. Sorry everyone for your wasted time ... I will go flog myself in a corner now (like a REAL Cleric would)

The Circle of the Moon is in the character generator.
It is not part of the D&D 5th edition SRD and will need to be unlocked from the marketplace before you can use it on D&D Beyond.
D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.

This is likely being caused by the release of the homebrew subclass feature. We’ll take a look next week and get it sorted out.
Thanks!

How do you find where to unlock the circle of the moon in the market place? I have looked and couldn’t find options
The subclass is contained within the Player's Handbook.
Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.
Quicksilver & The Scarlet Witch - A pair of magical firearms for your Gunslinger or Artificer.

Clerics cannot access druid subclasses. That's why you can't add the circle of the moon druid subclass to your cleric

If no, where exactly can it be purchased from the marketplace?
