Well think about it this way, I already redeemed a code from the Icespire peak box and I got the digital series of the icespire peak adventures. I could not get it linked to my other devices regardless of the account I had it saved on. I can only access it on this device only.
It should not work that way. If all your devices are logged in to the same DDB account, and that account is the one where you redeemed the code, it should be available on any device. On mobile devices in the compendium app, you would need to download it. Maybe your entitlements aren't in sync. To check, click on your user name in the upper right corner of this page. Choose Account; click on the marketplace tab. The first section of that tab is "account entitlements". if it says you need to sync, click the button to do so. If that doesn't fix things for you, please start a new thread, explain what's not working, and we can try to help you further. Or, you can just contact support. They can be a bit backlogged, so if the issue is one those of us on the forums can help you with, you will get help faster if you post. But if you inadvertently have two or more accounts or if something else on the account level is wrong, only support will be able to help you.

Someone in one of my campaigns just started playing Baldur's Gate 3, and for some reason, he doesn't have all the options from his D&D books either! Why not?

Look, this is a forum about people who want free shit. If you have a legitimate tech issue with your account, you should start a new thread in the Bugs & Support forum.

Ok thank you for your Generous suggestion IamSposta.
While I would have chosen different language than Sposta, I did suggest above that you make a new post. That wasn't to be mean or dismissive, but because you will get better help if you do so. You posted in a thread about getting the books here free, so there are going to be posts related to that topic in this thread that don't relate to your issue. There are any number of people here--including both myself and Sposta--who would be happy to help you figure this out, but it really is better done in a separate thread in the Bugs & Support forum.
Let's say you pay 40 for the book, 20 to the book 20 to the developer, problem solved, put in the book an activation code and done..... it isn't that hard.
Let's say you pay 40 for the book, 20 to the book 20 to the developer, problem solved, put in the book an activation code and done..... it isn't that hard.
Because the 20 to the book doesn't factor all costs for everyone involved.
Please see previous responses - it has been explained in great detail why this is not feasible. It is nowhere near as simple as you think it is.

Let's say you pay 40 for the book, 20 to the book 20 to the developer, problem solved, put in the book an activation code and done..... it isn't that hard.
Do you know why the hardcopy book costs $50?
Because books aren't cheap to print. Especially not TTRPG books - we're entitled bastards, the lot of us, insisting on lots of artwork (art costs $$), on full-color (color costs $$) glossy (high-gloss finish costs $$) in hardcover (binding costs $$).
Then, the guys on Beyond need to transcribe that to digital format (data entry costs $$), reformatted for the new medium (formatting costs $$), properly tagged and tied in to the searchable database and assorted tools (backend coding costs $$), and then all wrapped up in a slick website (web design costs $$).
You want both at once? You pay $100 .... $50 for the book, $50 to the developer.
The problem isn't how often you pay. The problem is how much you're paying ... because some people are cheap bastards. It really is that simple.

Do you know why the hardcopy book costs $50?
Because you are paying for a brick and mortar retailer and their overhead? The book doesn't cost $50 on Amazon.

MSRP would be $80 ($50 for the book, $30 for DDB), the Amazon version would still have to be $60 ($30 for Amazon, and $30 for DDB). Oh, wait... that’s exactly what it costs to get a copy from Amazon and another from DDB... wouldja look at that....

Only if you are assuming that WOTC would require the exact same 'take' on a combo deal. Let's say WOTC gets $20 of every sale. They could easily decide to take only $27 for a combo sale because it would still be more money vs someone who only bought it in one format. Of course, to run those numbers, that would require detailed knowledge of how many people are currently 'double buying' which WOTC doesn't have any way of knowing.

See, I've actually worked in the booksellers' trade.
The Publisher sets an MSRP, then sells it to a Distributor for, say, 20% to 30% of that. The distributor sells it on to a store (or chain), for 60% or 70% of that MSRP. (TTRPG books have traditionally cost stores more to stock, than typical novels and such.)
So it's not a matter of "Amazon has no overhead" - they DO have an overhead. Theirs pays for warehouses, trucks, cargo jets, a sprawling internet infrastructure, and tens of thousands of employees. What's really happeningis .... Amazon is acting as both the Distributor and the Retailer. They're buying the books directly, and then selling them to you at the same price your FLGS probably pays their distributor. They can do this not by avoiding overhead .... they can do this because they've cut out an entire step of the process.
So, with a $50 MSRP book ... Amazon pays $10 or $15, then sells it to you for $30, making a pre-overhead margin of between 100% and 200%.
Meanwhile, your FLGS maybe pays $35, to buy it from a Distributor (who paid $10 or $15), then sells it to you for $50 ... making a pre-overhead margin of only 30%.
This is why online retail is killing local retail; it's why brick-and-mortar booksellers are going out of business.

What I think you are failing to realize is the chain of distribution and the costs of production. WotC probably sells to Amazon at the same price they sell to everyone else. Amazon may get a bulk discount, but so would the disto companies (unless WotC direct distributes to game stores which is possible since Hasbro, but unlikely.) In reality, WotC probably gets around $15-$20/copy. In every step of distribution from Publisher to Customer, each entity along the way wants to make a certain percentage or it isn’t worth it for them. Like, for example, the restaurant industry generally runs on a 20-30% food costs. If they sell you a meal for $10, the ingredients cost the restaurant $2-$3. They know that margin will fit with labor, marketing, overhead, etc so that the restaurant will make about $4-$5 profit to offset the losses from the food they end up tossing.
With Books, there is less losses. You books won’t spoil on the shelf, and you don’t have to throw out all the unread books at the end of the night. Amazon and the Distro companies and the book stores can all afford to operate off of a slightly smaller profit margin. And digital doesn’t even need to handle physical inventory so figure less.
Running some rough guesstimations, figure WotC sells for $15-$20ish. Amazon buys for $15-$20 and sells for $30 which barely covers their expenses since their online sales division is almost a loss-leader for the brand which makes the bulk of its money off of online hosting and data storage. Amazon maybe made $2 profit per book, but it sold millions of copies. The distro companies buy for $15 and sell to retailers for $30 and make a little more profit per book than Amazon since they have less expenses, maybe $4-$5 profit, but again sold in bulk. Your local game store buys for $30, and retails for $50. After expenses, the bookstore probably made about $10 profit from the sale and those brick and mortars deserve every penny and then some. DDB probably pays WotC $15 per license since WotC doesn’t have to actually have anything made. DDB sells a Compendium for $20, so $5 profit. But their real money is in the Full Version which retails for $30. They probably added roughly $5 in expenses, but also net about $5 additional profit. Keep in mind, they also sell in bulk. And, the more invested a customer gets in DDB, the more likely they are to reinvest. And then there are Subscription and Dice sales too. That all roughly seems to track, and so I suspect that WotC costs per copy are around $10.
There really isn’t enough margins to do what you suggest without raising prices.

As a store, if my distributor was charging me $5/copy more than Amazon I would order my stock from Amazon. The distro company is probably charging the same $30 that Amazon does by necessity.
