Yes, spear, and the feat makes no distinction, and the fighting style says 1 hand. It should add the bonus to the butt end attack.
My assumption (and it's just an assumption) would be that the feat assumes that to effectively attack with the butt end, you're holding the weapon in two hands, in which case you don't qualify for the Dueling fighting style bonus.
When we customize attacks we should be able to change range as well. The Polearm Master Bonus Attack defaults to 5ft but if I'm using a weapon with Reach such as a Halberd I should have 10ft just like my regular attacks.

Welcome to the site. No need to use all caps, we can still read your message.
This has been covered several times - you bought the book from Wizards; and DnD Beyond is provided by a different company. You are not paying to "just be a necromancer", you would be paying for using the service, the tools and the digitalisation of the material by Curse. It's like if you go to a bookstore and buy a physical copy of a book, you are not entitled to the audiobook version on audible, or the ebook version in the kindle store; you have to buy those formats separately.
That being said, if you only want to unlock the Necromancer, you can do just that - if you go to the marketplace and press the PHB, you will find that you can unlock individual subclasses, or all the subclasses. If you do that and later change your mind and want to unlock the whole PHB, the previous purchases will be deducted from the full price (so you wouldn't pay for it twice). And if you're still not willing to spend money on this site for some reason, you could spend some time looking into how to create that subclass for yourself to be used as a homebrew.

So I've tried to search for this and not had much luck; got a lot of related searches but not quite what I wanted to ask about (also I think the forum search feature might be bugged, if I enter more than one word it doesn't seem to search at all).
Anyway, my query is around the "missing" Description and Notes sections when sharing my character sheet with other players.
Now I know that players might not want to share certain details like alignment, personality traits etc., but it seems strange for the whole Characteristics section to be hidden, likewise with the Physical Appearance section, and the inability to have public notes.
If this isn't the best place to post suggestions, please let me know, but what I'd like to request are the following changes for shared profiles in place of hiding the entire Description and Notes sections:
Characteristics: Show everything from the Characteristics section except for Alignment and Faith. Everything else should be possible to learn from simple observation on the vast majority of players. For characters that are initially starting as disguised it makes more sense to make the entire character private, or a secondary public character if heavily disguised (entire other race or such), or edit the character once revealed.
Appearance: Again, this should be observable so it doesn't really make sense to hide this except in uncommon cases better handled by hiding the entire character, or changing the description later (e.g- after revealing a true identity). I'm not too fussed if my fellow players learn that my character is well dressed, or what colour boots he has.
Notes: This section could be duplicated into separate public and private sections, allowing players to add public notes for widely known information (e.g- Everybody knows Procast Inate is a member of the City Watch), as well as move private notes to the public section as they become known to the group. Basically the two sections would have all the same fields, but one is only visible to the owner and DM, while the other is visible to anyone the profile is shared with, with it up to the player what they store as public and private.
Background: This section under Description (where Background Features are listed) is a bit of a question mark; while it's not something obvious about a character from their appearance, so are some classes etc., and it's fairly easy to guess a background from what a character's proficiencies are (especially if it's water vehicles or such). I'm less certain about whether this should just be made public or not though.
In future it might be nice if some toggle options could be added to the remaining hidden Description Sections (Background, Alignment, Faith, Personality Traits etc.) so that a player can make these public whenever they like (initially if obvious, or later when revealed).
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
First off, love what you guys have done and how you are always looking for improvements.
My feedback is around skill checks; if an addition to the customize feature of skill checks in regards to "advantage/disadvantage".
=> and in the same a similar vein a small "A" or "D" (like when i have advantage on initiative) added to show on the face of the character sheet.
The value I see mainly is in regards to armor types that impose disadvantage on stealth (but also if another item or event adds advantage/disadvantage like how the sentinel shield provides advantage to perception checks.)
Hi all, i don;t know if this is the right place or thread but i have trouble creating an custom item.
It is possible to create, but when i want to change the name, the item closes (if i fill in the text first i can create, but still not change the name)
after the 3rd time or something i can finally change the name (i cannot change the name at first try)

Yeah Advantage/Disadvantage on the character sheet has been requested for years now... frankly I'm flabbergasted that it's taken this long and still not implemented – it's core to the rules. I understand they're working on a larger framework for 'effects' on your character sheet, but this is fundamental – it should have been there since the character sheet was revamped.

am i the only one with this problem?
Are you highlighting the name text when it disappears? I figured out that if I highlight the name text and let go of the mouse button with the mouse too far to the left, the sheet thinks I clicked that far to the left and it closes the sidebar as if I had clicked off it.

You could try keyboard shortcuts - click into the text field, then press Ctrl-A (Cmd-A on mac) to Select All; or use shift-left or shift-right to select character by character.

Similar for Scale Mail - the sidebar states "when Strength requirement not met(Scale Mail)" - however Scale Mail has no Strength requirement at all.

Not sure whether this is the appropriate place to post this, but I assume it has to do with background changes to the character sheet framework.
Characters with the Observant feat now erroneously get a "Passive Perception 5 ft." in their Senses box, both on the regular web character sheets and in the app. Probably something to do with the +5 bonus to Passive Perception:
Easily reproducible, simply by adding the Observant feat to any character.
Yep I'm getting it too but without the observant feat.
It might just be a new addition to help define passive perception to new players?(maybe)
Do you have anything else that might affect your Passive Perception in any way? I currently only see it when adding the feat, and it's otherwise not visible on any other of my characters.

Now that you see Advantage/Disadvantage on skills because of heavy armor and the like, any chance we can see the same occur from Exhaustion?
Attack: [roll]1d20+[AMOD][/ roll]
Damage: [roll]if([roll:-1:fumble],=1,0,if([roll:-1],<[TARGET],0,if([roll:-1:critical],=1,2{[DAMAGE]}.expand(),[DAMAGE])+[DMOD]))[/ roll]
Maybe the sentinel shield (provides advantage on perception checks)... apart from that nothing that would affect my perception
Sentinel Shield should not do that - mind giving us the share link at least to take a peek at the character?
