Previously it was said that within a couple weeks there would be more clarity. I am merely looking for an update as I too had to search through google for the answer on icons. They are not in the skill or equipment descriptions making it quite counter intuitive.
You mean the little green “A” icons? That means you have Advantage on that role.
green A = advantage, green C = concentration, red D = disadvantage, black triangle with a = attune.
There is no tool tip on them, although some can be found in the filter but not all.
In item descriptions, the icon is missing; having this next to its descripter will make it more intuitive and allow the users the proper understanding of what the icon means without having to spend potentially hours searching.

I’m aware of all of that. I don’t know why you’re explaining it to me.

The last time anyone mentioned any “clarity” other than you was in May of 2017 in this post , not “a couple weeks ago” but instead “a couple years ago” so please explain what “clarity” you are asking for.

My bad, I didn't realizing I was necro posting about an issue 3 years old that still has not been fixed nor a proper list been added onto a post talking about information that is either difficult to find or just not there at all.
If you have a link or the information could you attach it and then lock this post and mark it solved to aid new members in finding an official answer.
Thank you
#IamSposta while it is true that this post was created in 2017, enough people have commented looking for a solution to the issue. Instead of just commenting on the most recent I would recommend reading the entire chain. While this may seem obtuse or curt, I hope to convey that you are not a 'General Moderator' or an employee of D&D Beyond (TM Wizards of the Coast) and may not understand what is actually being asked but merely interjecting in an unseelie manner.
I understamd you have been a valued member assisting other with issues but unless you've read the entire article, don't assume.

I assumed nothing. That was why I asked you for clarification as to your inquiry. If you will note, my initial post was “What’s unclear?” My hope was to be able to provide you with any information that might be more relevant than what was discussed 3 years ago, as DDB has recently launched their new sheet framework. I was attempting to be helpful. Pardon me for not reading information from 1,100 days in the past, that stopped being relevant more than a month ago.
You are correct on one thing: I am not, nor have I ever been, nor have I ever claimed to be either an employee of, nor do I have any other officially affiliation with DDB other than as a paying member.
You are incorrect about another thing. DDB is nor owned by WotC. DDB is not Trademarked by WotC, nor can it be. DDB is owned by a completely different company called Curse LLC, a subsidiary of Fandom Inc. I don’t work for either of those companies either BTW.
I do most certainly hope that was helpful. Good luck in you search for “clarity,” I hope I was able to provide some for you at least. Have a good day.
In relation to the small annotations like R for ritual etc, what about the small asterisk after the damage or healing die on the spells?
Like this example:
Guiding Bolt
Cleric
D: 1Rnd, V/S
4d6*
After the 4d6 there is a small *...it also occurs after "Aid" where it shows the 5 hp you give to the party members there is another little *.
Does anyone know what this means? Thanks in advance for the help!
Hello there Urmmir_Hammerfist,
If memory serves, the asterisk indicates that the value specified changes when cast at a higher level. Guiding bolt states “At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.”
I don't know if this is still active, or should be here, but I have a green d20 icon (with a + in it) next to my Dexterity save. I have tried many times to google it and cannot find out what it means. Does anyone know?
It's a situational bonus. The shield master feat will do this, for example, to remind you that you can add your shield's AC to a relevant save. If you click on 'DEX' it should open up the sidebar and there should be an explanation there of what that situational bonus is. If you don't see any explanation near the top, next to a corresponding green d20, then it might be coming from homebrew, but that's just a guess.
There's an L inside a hexagon after the name, but no explanation of what that icon means.
I think if you created a page which listed all the icons and the meanings behind them, that would be useful as a single resource rather than needed to check multiple places to try determining what an icon means.
What’s unclear?

What does a green a mean when it's next to an ability or profiency
It means advantage, as opposed to a red D for disadvantage

Somebody posted about a Tarrasque inside a Discord server and I ended up on https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/tarrasque

Thanks for the info, everyone! I was wondering what the red D was for. :)
Usually it means Disadvantage. I don’t think it’s used for anything else, but I could be wrong. Where are you seeing the red Ds.
