In the character creation process, a toggle button is missing to allow or restrict access to Acquisitions Incorporated content. I see Eberron and Rick & Morty have been added, but not Acqu. Inc.
Starting an Acquisitions Inc campaign on Friday, but for my other "serious" campaigns like Out of the Abyss, I'd rather not have these more humorous options available for my players (spells, magic items, etc.) (and we play in the Forgotten Realms).
Thanks.
(To be clear: I am talking about the character creation tool, not the campaign management section).
Acquisitions Incorporated isn't (currently) toggleable because it's officially forgotten realms content and thus is considered default/cannon/primary lore content.
Eberron, Critical Role and Rick and Morty are all non-FR and thus can be toggled off.
Thanks. BadEye just gave me this answer as well on the live Dev Update stream. He did mention however if more people ask for a toggle button for Acquisitions Inc content, they will bring it up with WotC. So, DMs/players, if you want that toggle button, mention it on this forum (and/or press those up arrows)!
I would also like to see such a toggle. Ideally, I’d like to be able to turn on or off ANY source I have access to on a given character. That would be of great help for AL legal characters.
Also not a fan of AI content, also would love a way to disable. Drives me insane when I see those backgrounds in my Character Creation flow for new campaigns.
+1 To this. More options to filter/restrict sources in general would be really great as a DM.
These kinds of things can (and should) be a conversation between Players and the DM, especially for newer players; but one of the really nice things about DND Beyond is that it lets new players devise a character or a character-concept for a campaign without being hand-held by the DM all the way. However, new players also see options almost like suggestions - And then it has to become a more awkward situation where the DM has to shoot down something the player has chosen that the DM feels doesn't fit their campaign/setting, but didn't think to call out as forbidden beforehand.
It would be so much better if we could run down a list of tickboxes for the more substantial things from a particular source such as Races from across the multiverse that don't fit the feel of a given campaign, tonally-ill-fitting spells from AI in a serious campaign or even Homebrew items that are in the DM's collection but not necessarily something they want to allow for a given campaign.
That's a bigger development ask than what this thread is originally looking for; so just a tickbox to filter out AI stuff from character creation would be a great start; but as a DM I'd really love more control of this stuff.

Why would D&D Beyond have to ask WotC if they can change a toggle on their own software.

It has to do with the restrictions of their license, I believe. There have been a number of things like this that are dependent on WOTC’s ok.
The things in this sourcebook just don't fit in my campaign and I *hate* that literally tonite, I had to tell one of my players that he couldn't use a spell because we don't use the AcqInc sourcebook in our campaign... after we got into combat. :|
What about franchises? I would like an easy way to include franchise features in the character editor.
I would also like to see franchise options on the character sheet. In one campaign I am in I am a documancer but have no way to add my gift of words ability to my character sheet besides the notes section.
I have the book for ym ac inc campaign but I don't know how to add the features for my player or for my self like company positions any one knows how ?

"I have the book for my ac inc campaign, but I don't know how to add the features for my player or for myself, like company positions.Anyone knows how?"
It isn't implemented very well at the moment. Currently you have to add the correct custom magic item, but they are currently working on adding support for mechanics like company positions (and boons, and curses, and piety, etc).
I would also like Acq. Inc to be a toggled option. While I love the Verdan race, most of the spells and such are very specific to Acq. Inc games. THough I feel like every single book should have a toggle.
Leaving OGL 1.0(a) untouched and making SRD 5.1 CC-BY-4.0 is a great first step. The next is a promise to do the same for future editions. Here's a discussion thread on that.

I wouldn't mind a toggle for acq Inc. I don't want/need the spells or items when not doing franchises.
I'm a big fan of this toggle idea, there are so many duplicate & silly spells I could do with isolating. You've my +1 there.

Would also really like this, especially when browsing spells for planning my warlock, seeing things like "distort value" is just annoying.

So sick of seeing the AI content in the lists during character creation. would love to be able to toggle it off.
thought about getting the source bundle, but if that means i can't toggle the silly backgrounds and spells from AI off, i rather don't.

DDB is great, but it could be better. Here are some things I think could improve DDB
Please make it happen.
