Hey there fine folks at DDB. It sure would be swell if we could tell our character sheets that we were wielding a weapon with Versatile two-handed the same way we can tell it that we’re dual-wielding.
To help newer players know which is the correct damage die. If they could check that box and it would switch the d8 to a d10 for convenience. I mean, there’s space for it on the character sheet, so what the heck. Plus, who knows when they’ll come out with a Magic Longsword that grants +1 AC when wielded two-handed or something. It seams like they’re planning for such contingencies with the current redesign, why not plan for this too? Can it hurt? It could even put up a flag reminding the player about Great-Weapon Fighting Style, stuff like that.
Not to mention, eventually the system will have to start tracking how many things are in hand if they plan to eventually put everything together into a VTT.

If this ever becomes a thing, it would definitely be needed then.

It’s on the long-term roadmap, so better to plan for it now. Not anticipating those needs is why DDB forced to do another Character Sheet revamp currently. Better to learn from the mistake to avoid repeating it.
it also messes it up bad if you try to add versatile to a non versatile weapon as a custom magic item. On the manage inventory section where you add it to the character says 1d6/1d8 but in sheet it sets it to 1d8/1d8 Both One-handed and two-handed become the same damage they just both become 1d8+x using (scimitar+versatile) as a base weapon. I've even tried manually setting the one-handed damage to 1d6 as what it should be but one the sheet it lists both as 1d8

Not a bad idea, it would help with dualist style and... Actually, I can't think of a second thing it would help with.
And no one has even mentioned versatile being a problem with dualist because no one with dualist 2 hands.
And the versatile damage is already listed on sheet. What are hoping to change exactly?

That’s strange. It didn’t used to do that.
