When I prepare for DMing I usually underline a lot of text (sometimes in different colors) and take notes on the side of the page, which are very useful sometimes to know which voice to make with each NPC (and remembering!), or some times simple things such as "this secret note is explained on page 47".
It would be cool to be able to underline/highlight text on the adventure modules, and select text and be able to add comments (like Google docs does would be ideal - next to each piece of text).
Feel free to move this to the right forum if this is not the place. Thanks! Great job!
I would also like to create a NEW Note Category in Campaigns AN/OR Digital Character Sheet (They would be exclusive of where they were created. A campaign note would NOT show on a Character sheet and visa versa). There would be a choice that says "Create New Note Category." A dialog would pop asking for a "Title for this Note Category". This would create an empty note box with the category name that you gave in your campaign and/or digital Character Sheet.
NOTE: The DM note categories could be Private/Public.
Awesome idea. I'd much rather mark up my digital books than any physical product, and a simple few tools would go a long way. I tend to highlight faction members (or members of a conspiracy or secret society) in the same color. Notes are super useful too.
As a new GM running their first campaign, it can be hard to remember every bit of information and where every bit of information can be found. Having the hightlighter and note taking feature included in dnd beyond will help all new and experience DMs/GMs keep track of information; irregardless of if that information is general or specific to a campaign they are running. Or even include a section for the characters involved in a campaign for the GM to privately review without using a separate application or extension.
I hope this feature can be added to DND Beyond soon. It’s difficult having to manual search for the same information repeatedly or using a different program to contain my information.
I'd have to say, this is the one thing that's stopping me from subscribing - while it's great to have access to the adventures as published, in order to run them effectively, I need to mark up some bits (same as I do for printed materials) - highlight the important pieces, change some bits, etc. Without this, DnD Beyond is just a great Character Sheet for Players, a great reference tool for the everyone, and a great encounter builder. But it can't be used as-is for the DM to actually run a campaign, without additional stuff (which is hard to juggle, if you want to be all-digital, so in my case it's all paper-based except the fights).

Yes!!!
You might be interested in a browser extension.
Not sure how well this one works since I've never used it. But I think it would be easier to use an extension.

Yes! This would be amazing!
Still wanted!!! Please add!
Very much still needed. But as this was posted 5 years ago, I get the sense the chances are slim.

Please I'm begging for this to be a feature.
Coming here to ask the same! I paid for both a physical and digital copy of a campaign, please just let this be a feature 😭

Definitely would appreciate this feature.
