When I set the poisoned condition on my character sheet, I would expect that it would mark all of my ability scores and attack rolls with disadvantage.
When I set the grappled condition, I would expect that it sets my speed to 0 feet.
When I give myself 4 levels of exhaustion, I would expect that my hit point maximum and speed would be halved until I lose the levels.
None of these conditions do any of this. They simply list the condition under my Active Conditions section. I guess this is somewhat useful to remember what conditions my character has, but not really. It's easy to overlook, and if I go and click on my attack roll while restrained, it's going to be a normal roll even though I have disadvantage on all attack rolls. It's still my job to remember these things, which makes the conditions bar pretty much pointless.
I would hope that setting the conditions automatically marks your character sheet with these changes so that you don't have to read them yourself and make the necessary changes.

Personally I don't think this should ever be integrated. I love D&DB, but more and more I see people that don't know a lot of the basic rules and that will only get worse as more things are automated in the character sheet. It's not a terrible thing to have to manually set something up, in fact, it will likely help you remember what that rule, condition, etc. is that you're doing ir for.

Lightning Strike - A rebranded Fire Bolt for Wizards & Sorcerers.
Spirit Bomb - A holy fireball for Clerics, Paladins, & Divine Soul Sorcerers!
Sword Dancer - A Cleric subclass specifically for the Drow goddess Eilistraee.
I just feel like if you're going to have Advantage icons for elves on being charmed, why not use them for conditions as well? They both have the same purpose: to help you not forget. There's no reason to go halfway on this app. Its purpose is to allow a higher focus on playing the game and not remembering minutiae. If you want to do it manually, you can use a paper sheet and keep track yourself.
At the very least, it'd be nice to be able to manually place the Disadvantage and Advantage icons next to certain places on the sheet if you needed to be reminded of them for whatever reason.

I agree with this - I was surprised that when adding such things like 1 level of exhaustion it did not impart the effects of incurring it to appear on the character sheet. Personally I would very much like to see this added!
Hopefully this is added during the current Character Sheet Restructuring that is happening.

Totally agree with the author. For those who "don't want too much automation" - why don't use the paper character sheets? Or maybe there could be a checkbox to turn all of the automation off, but it should be turned ON by default, cause that's the whole reason to use DnDBeyond - to automate the boring mechanical stuff and let players focus on the roleplaying, solving puzzles, solcial encounters and combat tactics... NOT on doing the "fun math of D&D". Especially when the players are already 5-9 lvl and they don't need a "reminder" what certain level of exhaustion does.

Currently the conditions are for tracking/remembering what conditions your character has.
However, more advanced features are planned, such as integration into the combat tracker

A couple years later and still not implemented, where am I, roll20?
All generalizations are false.
And we're still waiting. 😁
Two years later. Hopefully now that WotC owns D&D, we will start seeing a lot more of the features we've all been waiting for get implemented.

Still waiting 4 years later.
Any of the suggestions would be great.
I just discovered this as well. I hope this is something they are working on.
