TLDR what they said. Barb wins, then probably Fighter, then the rest. If you want some reasoning behind it, here you go:
5e doesn't really do "tanks," but if you want to be tough that means you also want a high CON. So basically anything with INT/WIS/CHA as a primary stat is out. You're left with:
Paladin (typically dumps DEX because it uses heavy armor and benefits greatly from CHA)
Rogue (has a lot of damage mitigation, but it comes online later. STR will be almost entirely redundant and hp is not great)
Monk (won't really work without WIS)
Artificer (technically INT primary but you might be able to make it work depending on spell selection, won't be great though)
Ranger (wants WIS but you can do ok without it, workable but you wont have many features/spells that help with what you're going for)
Fighter - nothing wrong with this choice, although STR and DEX are largely redundant for them
Barbarian - STR/DEX/CON is exactly what this class wants. Also probably the closest thing to a tank in 5e.
You will end up with basically all mental stats in the trash, if you use point buy, you will most likely get one at 10 and the other 2 at 8, because you HAVE to max all three physical attributes to play a halfway decent barbarian (unless you play a tortle, cause you dont need to max dex, but since dex is one of the things you WANT to have, I dont think thats the way^^)

Or should I multiclass?
The character is a tank btw.
Barbarian would be my first thought...
STR for attacks and checks
DEX for AC and Dex based checks (Stealth, Sleight of Hand, etc...)
Definitely Barbarian. This feels like a trick question or something. It's Barbarian.
