It is perfectly viable to be concerned over these leaks, but cancelling your account or quitting the game because of unconfirmed "leaks" seems to be a step too far. At this point in time, we don't really know for sure what Open Game License 1.1 will be. Sure, we have a couple of leaks and a bunch of speculation, but Wizards of the Coast hasn't confirmed whether or not the leaks and speculation are correct, and they have denied certain parts of it.
All in all, I will wait to hear from Wizards of the Coast on this before I start to panic. For those who would want to leave the game if this speculation is correct, I would advise waiting to actually see whether or not the speculation is correct before quitting. Waiting one more week before making your mind up doesn't mean you have to keep playing D&D. What it does mean though, is that you will be able to make an informed decision on whether or not to leave the game.
Personally, I will probably still continue to play D&D, even if the old OGL is revoked and there are a few more restrictions on homebrew content. That being said, this poll doesn't really account for the fact that the leaks could be false, and it asks you whether you will continue to be a D&D player if hypothetical doomsday scenarios occur, despite the fact that it is still a likely possibility that they do not.

When this OGL becomes effective, I'll be deleting my account that is just shy of 5 years.
That makes sense I guess. I just think it's important to remember though that the leaked Open Game License might never become effective, since the leaks are unverified and they might not be accurate. We do know that the OGL is being modified, but we don't actually know most of the terms. So it might not be nearly as bad as some people seem to think.

I'm waiting for a final answer on their OGL before jumping to any decisions. However theyre already on shakey ground with me as a customer over how they handled the Dragonlance physical bundle pre-order, and their lack of any kind of communicaition.
That being said if theyre gonna move forward with that draft as is, when the games I am running reach a conclusion I will cancel my subscription and find a new system to play. I know there are some people who's attitude is like "Oh no what are they gonna do? Just one person is leaving the biggest RPG out there." But I'm behind the philosophy of kind of voting with my dollar when possible, which can be kind of hard admittedly but when possible I avoid Walmart, Chik-fil-A, and other companies I disagree with how they operate. Mindful Consumerism.

I am very glad to see that there are still some people who are waiting to see the outcome of this situation before they decide on their reaction to it. That being said, I do think it is important to note that the unconfirmed "leak" about what Open Game License 1.1 is not necessarily fully accurate. At this point, we really don't know Wizards of the Coast either confirms or denies the rumors.

We certainly should wait, and I did mention in my original posting that the action was pending seeing what the final iteration of the OGL will be.
However, the leaked content is pretty much considered legit by several sources, including several legal ones, and could very well be a "test balloon" on the part of WotC to see how the public will react.
Hence things like this poll to help get the point across - "WotC - you do this at your own peril."

The new OGL (OGL 1.1) is a slap in the face to the D&D community and a betrayal of the original intent (and promise) of the original OGL.
Unless WotC backs off of it's current position, I plan on migrating all my games to a different system and terminating my subscription to D&DB. It's heartbreaking to think, but I have no intention of supporting a company that exercises in this kind of over-reach against the community of players, developers, writers, and DMs that have made the game the success it is today.
I literally own everything WotC has published for DnD5e - even the stuff that is of questionable quality - and prefer the content made third party in many cases. My interest in 5e was only because of the amazing community out there. I would have gone with a completely different TTRPG when I returned to gaming a couple years ago had it not been for the content of people like Critical Role, Acquisitions Inc., Dungeon Dudes, Matt Covill, How to Be a Great GM, and many other contributors. To NOT recognize that they are the driving force behind your product's success and popularity is unforgivable.
I will be watching, very carefully, for a change in position from WotC... and if I don't see one, I'll be voting with my feet... and my wallet.
I'm in a grey area personally.
If the leak is true, than yeah I might cancel my sub to DnDB and switch my online group to Pathfinder. But at this time, its a leak, and not confirmed or denied by anyone. As to what is posted by WotC on DnDB, I see no issues with what they have. I do not disagree with charging royalties to use D&D if your product is making $750k. I'm more concerned with percentages, and what was said about past licenses. The past license was open to all, and for all content, and many games not related to D&D used the OGL to design other kinds of games. Also, the wording about streamed games and content creators makes me concerned.
Then there is the bit about requiring people to destroy their inventory on the whim of WotC. No. Just no.
I do hope the leaked document is either false, or changed.

The material leaked has been validated by several sources, but it is a preliminary version. The thing is, if it WASN'T the intended language, WotC would have said something by now, don't you think?
Furthermore, there are several reviews from actual lawyers on the leaked language... it's open to contentestation, but the language is pretty draconian.
What WOULDN'T surprise me is that the leak was INTENTIONAL to test the public's reaction to the most conservative language they could think of to see what WOULD and WOULDN'T fly with the fan base.
Hence, the discussions - even if "hypothetical" aren't meaningless.

Duh. If the leak is true, then this is the first shot in a legal war between Paizo and Hasbro. But that is only based on the concept that 1.1 revokes 1.0a. Which is only in the leaked document, and is not an official statement by WotC or Hasbro. Paizo has enough money to fight a long and protracted legal battle, and since many game systems completely unrelated to WotC used the OGL such as Fate, the legal battle would be all of TTRPG publishing houses, about 10 video game companies, most of the bigger streamers, aka the majority of a multi-billion dollar a year industry vs Hasbro (1.6B year company)
Some of the companies that would sue, besides Paizo, and all the distributors of games,
the BBC used the OGL to publish a Dr Who RPG, the owners of these properties: Conan: The Roleplaying Game, EverQuest RPG, WarCraft d20, Judge Dredd RPG, Stargate SG-1..

I see a lot of people up in arms about this and I do have to ask, what SPECIFICALLY are you angry about?
Angry about them controlling their IP? Are you angry about Star Wars or 40k or Marvel doing the same? 20 to 25 % royalties only after 750K yearly income is pretty generous. I didn’t have a problem when they did it 2nd edition (before the OGL for those who can remember).
Are you angry about them not allowing content that is discriminatory or promotes bigotry using their IP?
I am angry about them taking rights of creators away to their own OGL created IP and giving not collaborative control over it. That is dirty . But outside of that?

The Rules Lawyer, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oPV7-NCmWBQ (reading from source material generated by WotC and provided by Mark Cyphter (sp?) from Battle Zoo - the company preparing the publication). The material has been validated by Battle Zoo, the publisher, and confirmed by others within WotC. For example, The Rules Lawyer validated with Battle Zoo AND with an internal source.
This isn't speculation, but it isn't the final language either. HOWEVER - the language did, at some point, exist and was SHARED with members of the D&D community. The LEAK may be WotC's attempt to get a read on how the public would react to the license prior to an official launch. Which is why protesting and sharing opinions is important despite the content not yet being finalized.

Not canceling my sub as I have a remote player who can't just swing by my house for the physical books, but I'm no longer planning to purchase any D&D content from Wotc/DDB, regardless of what changes they make after "listening to the community".
