So, I made a unique longsword, and I'm trying to come up with some ideas for its magic abilities. It's called Horizon's Edge, it's a WIP, but it's public. Basically, an explorer crafted the sword to fight a group dedicated to destroying his hometown https://xender.vip/, and then the sword was given to my character years later, as a gift. So, if anyone has any ideas for me, I would be happy to hear from you. Thanks!
That is not true. You can edit, but the system is kind of confusing and difficult. Then again, I probably no less about technology than your grandpa and I was able to figure it out so...
The name 'Horizon's Edge' makes me think of the Horizon Walker ranger subclass, that focuses on teleportation magics and extraplanar stuff. Maybe the sword grants some mobility buffs to its use. Depending on rarity, maybe it allows the user to teleport 5 feet before or after an attack (user's choice).

You can create a new version and edit that, but you can't edit the one you made public

So when you do that it doesn't update the published version?

No. They're separate entries in the database

Stinking Stinkbugs! Sorry folks. Turns out even when I think I understand technology it is still as alien to me as an ankle is to a whale.
A mechanism that adds bonus damage to one attack on your turn when you move a certain distance seems appropriate. Something like "if you move at least 15 feet, add 1d6 damage to one attack you make before the end of your turn."

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.

Aaand you can't delete the old published versions. Published is published forever.

I like this idea. A sword that lets the attuned wielder spend a charge as a bonus action to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space they can see and make an attack with the sword either before or after the teleport. Maybe give it 3 charges and it refreshes 1d3 charges “when the sun crests the horizon” (daily at dawn). That sounds cool.
I feel like more information is needed. Why is it called Horizon's Edge? Who were the people it was made to defeat? What sort of power level are we looking for?
The name sounds kinda legendary, and it seems to imply great distance. Maybe it can cut someone from afar - under given circumstances - or maybe it can bring the wielder to his target, provided there's line of sight. Or maybe it provides sight unto the horizon, meaning it let's it's wielder scout a cone of vision all the way to the horizon for an intended quarry.
I'd say it's an elegant sword, polished to a perfect mirror sheen - and it always reflects far away horizons, specatular landscapes and magical realms, no matter where it is.

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.

I do like that idea. Maybe it has a modified hunter's mark sort of effect

I agree that more info is needed, including whether the the guy that made it was successful. If he as I can see why he might want to pass the sword on, if not why is turning the sword loose?

If you made your homebrew sword public you won't be able to edit anymore.
