My crew is striking out from Nightstone to look for the missing townsfolk. They're not quite level 3 yet, so maybe they'll come across some goblins on the way. Maybe a Gnoll scouting party will stalk them in the forest. Maybe those Kraken Society cultists searching for a link to the elemental plane of water will get discovered. Maybe all 3.
Most likely they will sit in the inn and talk about how much they don't trust the Zhentarim, and try to convince the Dwarf artisan who hired them as escorts to get out of Dodge.
I'm not actually in a D&D game at the moment, but in a post-apocalyptic game of Fate based vaguely on the Danger Days album... it's an interesting time. We've got a big inter-party discussion coming up to tackle to fact that one of our players develops stress-based superpowers, one of them just blew out their cybernetic eyes, and we've got a bunch of evidence of government corruption and nothing to do with it that won't put at least one member of the party at risk.

Played my Roll20 adventure stuff last night. This weekend is my break weekend for the month from DMing and I'm going to spend some quality time working on a piece I will be publishing soon in the DM's Guild. Should have been completed by now but my proficiency in artistic talent is really low. It's like rolling double 1's with advantage. I'm hoping my daughter will lend her skills to polish things off.

Check out my podcast! What, you had something better to do? Have you ever heard something interesting and thought "How have they not made a movie about this yet?" Well, so have we.

Either way fun will be had!
HAHAHA I will be running Storm King's Thunder tonight...except we are making our way to the lair of some gnarly Stone giants. Nightstone was so long ago... :/ my players were so young and inexperienced then. And seriously, does everyone sit around and talk about how they don't trust the Zhentarim? :P
Tomorrow, I will be playing Pathfinder at my buddies house. I am a LG Paladin (16) , goblin... :P We are a party of small folk making a big mark on the larger world. Mainly halflings and goblins. Probably one of the best games I have played in years. 3rd tier mythic as well. I have an awesomely amazing legendary sword that is also my cohort... :) Greybringer!
Sunday is spring cleaning with Miss Gmoat and maybe take Artemis to the park for some fresh exercise, weather permitting.
"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."

Just finished another season DMing HotDQ and tomorrow I get to be in my friend's campaign that he did. But we also just got TfrYP on Roll20, so we may flick over to that. :)
Our DM has decided that for the end of Out of The Abyss the party is going to do a battle royale as the demons, and then our characters will kill whatever demons are left.
Granted, we're level 14 and really shouldn't be, so this might be a cake walk?

Won't be this weekend, but one configuration of my group has their characters heading into an ancient dwarven kingdom (on a journey further beyond), and will likely be surprised to find a demonic plague-like curse afflicting some of the populace, the king included. (This being a side-trek I inserted into the Serpent Amphora Cycle of adventures for the Scarred Lands campaign setting.)
Another configuration of my group, that usually gets together in the middle of the week, are on the trail of an undeath cult responsible for murdering one of their friends and other assorted misdeeds, and will be looking for leads at a members-only hunting lodge (This being book 3 of the Carrion Crown adventure path.)
Success! Down 1 player, the group set out to find the missing townsfolk of Nightstone. The find a trail and follow it. While taking a breather they discovered a Gnoll pursuer and chased him into an ambush! They managed to kill them, and take their stuff.
The group finds a second trail and it leads them to some Kraken Society cultists uncovering an ancient well, and mistakenly unleash a crazy type of water elemental who gives them a serious challenge. They prevail again and manage to discover a bag of holding on the leader.
The party the traces their way back to the original trail and find a low dome shaped hill. In a shocking display of boldness the party's bard decides to strut in the main entrance to which he is met by an ogre who is rather upset about the interruption oh his hot mud bath.
I DMed my regular game on Friday night. The party were trapped in some ancient ruins underneath the city. They had been pursued by a large band of mercenaries so they blew out the stairs leading down, sealing off the entrance to buy some time, but now they were stuck underground and needed to find another way out. They discovered that the ruins were created by a humanoid-bug-people and found a load of large red crystals that started cracking open, revealing undead bug creatures cocooned inside. To cut a long story short they ended up having to repair an old steam-powered door system whilst being hunted by a huge undead-remorhaz, which they quickly realised they had no chance of facing head-on leading to a pretty awesome chase scene through the ruins.
Just finished my first sesh after a 3 week break as DM. I love this game so much, my players just reached level 4, and our Druid who's had a mysterious book with him all through his presence in the campaign just got the ritual caster feat and chose comprehend languages which allowed him to read and open it! I was planning on giving it to him at level 9 through an NPC who could speak the language, but nope, he just totally took me by surprise, I love that feeling.
My newest group who is still learning went to the Redbrand hideout in the beginning adventure and made friends with a hairy dwarf man. (A pc who missed last week so I took the opportunity to introduce this week.) They're doing well learning the ins and outs of roleplaying.
My regular group is on break from delivering an elderly druid to his final resting place since one of them has surgery. I hope things get back soon.
I just got back from a Larp Convention! This weekend I played lots of horrors. My characters were:
A classic jock from college in a classic horror movie scenario. We lived, defeating the axe murderer and scaring off the werewolves!
A dark detective at a meeting for the mob families. I ended up finding and killing a cultist, as well as tracking down and ridding the crime world of vigilantes.
An 'adult' in the world of the 100. I found my girlfriend who was sent down with the delinquents and we made peace between the factions. Except the Mountain Men, screw those guys.
An abused teenage women from the 1950s sent to a mental asylum for 'manipulating my father to abuse me'. This psychological horror is haunting, as 6 women were left in a cramped room with little memories and lots of mental illness.
An LGBT person from the 1950s that was kidnapped and experimented on as part of Project Artichoke (This was real, google it.) Another psychological horror that hit me hard.
Despite all the horrors and feels, I had an amazing weekend!

If you love a character, you give them pain, ruin their lives, make them suffer. Maybe even throw in a heroic death.
JUST this weekend started up a Shadows of Vathak Pathfinder game, as well as starting a 5e game about my homebrew setting where philosophies are magic.
We started a new short campaign this weekend using D&D 5e. This is the smallest our group has ever been with only 4 players and the DM. And it was hilarious. We are a group that has known each other for several years. The best part is what we decided our groups name was, which we decided on the Discrete Troop. The name came about because we work for the king of the city Discretely. Our group consists of a Ranger Changeling, a Hexblade Half-Elf, a Dragonborn Paladin, and my character a Avariel Bard. We all have very long INT scores but really high CHA scores so we are dumb as rocks but look fabulous. Pretty much the plot was that we are a well known group that works for the king but hadn't heard from the king in months and were running low on money. One night while performing in the Tavern we call home the rich man came in claiming to be the kings son. He paid us a bit in advance to go find a sword that the fate of the world depended on. And the most important thing to be DISCRETE. So before we head out we go to restock on potions and of course they send the Bard and Ranger to go do that. Lets just say the Potion saler is a huge gossip and the Ranger is horrible at being discrete. It was quite funny. I have a really good feeling about this campaign. Very funny with some amazing players that are adding a lot to the game.
We are in Strahd's castle at the moment. I'm not going to go into details about what we're doing so as not to have any spoilers if other people are playing as well, but things are a bit grim at the moment.

No DnD this weekend, as my wife and I are both unwell - I've mostly lost my voice, which doesn't work well for running a session.
We'll hopefully play next weekend (or maybe on a weeknight), when the party strike out into the wilderness, in search of Cragmaw Castle. :)

So I hope the next sunday we can play.
