For those of you who do not check the Beyond's front page (like me), WE HAVE A THIRD PARTY BOOK AVAILABLE ON BEYOND! And it is Tal’dorei Campaign Setting Reborn!
HOPEFULLY, THIS MEANS MORE THIRD PARTY STUFF WILL BE AVAILABLE ON BEYOND!!! As you can tell, I am kind of excited. HOWEVER, I am trying not to dampen the mood, but Beyond still has a long way to go finishing implementing all RAW and optional stuff, and they are working pretty slowly, so please temper your expectations. BUT I AM STILL KIND OF EXCITED!!!
Just letting y'all know if y'all missed the front page. I actually found out about it through Reddit. I do not see a way to purchase a physical-digital bundle like I can with certain and newer Wizards' products. I also have the Legendary Bundle, but the discount does not apply, so I think it is safe to assume the Sourcebook Bundle discount would not apply either. There is also no à la carte nor compendium options for individual items in the book; it is the whole book or nothing. This is probably because it is a third party book, so yeah, if y'all want to buy both in a physical-digital bundle AND have the Bundle discounts apply AND have à la carte and compendium options, y'all better start screaming as loud as possible for it. Do not expect them to cater to you any time soon, but maybe eventually they will!
With that being said, I AM GOING TO SCREAM ABOUT IMPLEMENTING ALL THE UNEARTHED ARCANA STUFF!!! Charge me if you have to! Imagine playing the Mystic or modern setting subclasses from way back! Imagine playing with all the cool One D&D UA stuff one day!
AND SPELL POINTS!!! AND EPIC BOONS AND OTHER FEAT-LIKE SYSTEMS!!! Almost forgot about those!
For what it's worth, it's offering me a small discount (from $29.99 down to $26.99) which I assume is a Legendary Bundle discount. Unfortunately they don't seem to be providing the ability to buy individual content like subclasses/magic items/monsters/etc.; hopefully that's something DDB will enable later. But it's a great book with lots of fun character creation options and I highly recommend folks pick it up if they're at all interested in the Exandria setting.
Huh. I do not see a discount on my end. I guess I will wait a few days for everything to sort out first before I buy it then. Maybe there was a glitch so the Legendary Bundle discount is not applying for me. In the mean time, I will shop around my local game stores and consider getting a physical copy too.

I was not offered a Legendary Bundle discount when I saw it this morning.

They even have a support thread for it, like all the other product releases:
Didn't read it too closely, but I think it noted some bugs with some of the subclasses, etc. Maybe they're trying to fix them before making them available for piecemeal sales? That book I could see a lot of folks wanting to buy bits and pieces of from the player side of things.
Anyway, was surprised by this announcement on social, and think it's really cool. I think somewhere in those various notes from the Content Creator's Summit someone had said DDB was looking to become a third party marketplace going forward with One D&D, this could be a test with one of their more trusted creative partners to see what that looks like. I wouldn't expect the flood gates to open for Kobold (especially since they're stance is still I think "We're doing Black Flag now") or Griffons Saddlebags. I saw someone on Twitter ask if the Eberron Book on DMsGuild would be next ... I'd say that'd be a likely next candidate depending on the current state of relations between the creator and WotC/DDB.
I'm guessing this also signals something to those folks thinking CR was going to break from D&D because they're developing their own TTRPGs.

Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul have never been fully implemented and are available piecemeal.
I'm leaning more towards they aren't up to speed on the compensation for 3rd party publishers for piecemeal purchases yet.
I wonder how much this has to do with Critical Role's built-in integration of D&D Beyond, since, as far as I'm aware, everyone at CR still uses D&D Beyond for their character sheets. D&D Beyond's collaboration with Critrole is already why the Bloodhunter Class and Gunslinger Subclass are integrated into the site... I think there are a few other Critrole subclasses on D&D Beyond as well. Part of me thinks that Taldorei Reborn was in the process of being integrated into D&D Beyond just to make all the content in that book useable by the players... so someone decided they might as well just make it available to the public and make some money in the process.
All in all I hope this is a sign of more 3rd party content coming to D&D Beyond.
As the CR hype is still real, this move is a astonishingly well executed PR stunt. They either payed a ton of money for the license, or have made some crazy profit sharing deal. It - again, as with the rising popularity of CR - ties more players/CR fans to ddb's "walled garden", as it's pretty convenient for them, to have that source/setting here, too. Monetisation ftw.

Sigh. Some folks just love to complain and will go out of their way to make Wizards the bad guy, even when Wizards is doing something players have been requesting for over a year now. Heaven forbid Wizards do something that is going to make CR better off, Wizards better off, and give players something they want also.
Here is the reality: Players clearly love this sourcebook—it has sold very well from CR’s store. Giving players another way to access the book only benefits players—no one is forcing you to buy it, but, if you like having digital content integrated into D&D Beyond, now you have a brand new option available to you.
That is a win for players.
CR now has a new way to generate revenue - there are plenty of folks who are interested in this book, but have no interest in homebrewing the contents so it works with Beyond, or otherwise have no interest in owning the physical book. CR now has a way to sell to those people.
That is a win for CR.
Wizards gets a new reason for folks to come to Beyond, as well as a strong indication to players that CR intends to stick with D&D, even as they release their own system. They also may get a share of the proceeds.
Those are all wins for Wizards.
This opens the door to other third party publishers potentially being able to utilise this revenue stream. While CR has the advantage of past work with D&D and Beyond specifically, the infrastructure is now in place and offers the possibility of future expansion.
This is a win for third-party publishers.
On the other side, we have the fiction of your post - nothing about this puts the sourcebook behind a “wall” - you can still buy the paper copy if you do not wish to use Beyond. This is a made up problem, and a rather silly distraction from something which only helps the community.
In addition, a PDF version of the book is was already available through the Darrington Press/Critical Role shop as well as the physical copy. Those people who really hate Wizards that much don't even have to come here for an electronic copy. You are is correct--there is no "wall". Those people just need to let those who would like to have CR stuff here on D&DB enjoy themselves. I for one am glad they've done so. We've got Tal' dorei and Wildemount. Now we just need Marquete...
Lol, yeah no, that's what you read into it, not what i said. Well executed PR move, convenient for players, no boo-hoo wizard's bad. That it extends the "walled garden", which exists and will be expanded further with D&DDigital is a fact. Same goes for better means of monetization through DDB. Mentioning this is, in itself, no judgement.

Iff your post was meant innocently, I do apologise. However, you should be aware, both the (still inapplicable) phrase “walled garden” and any discussion using the (usually taken out of context) term monetisation are dog whistles perpetuated by anti-Wizards social media personalities and commonly used on these forums. Their near-exclusive usage on these forums is to dogwhistle to other anti-Wizards formers. Seeing both of them together creates a perception you might want to be carful to avoid moving forward.
They added...Spell points? HELL YEAH CANT WAIT TO USE THOSE RULES
Unless I just totally missed something, I think XXXGammaRay was just excited something that was on their dndbeyond wish list finally happened, third party published books for sale on dndbeyond and implemented into the digital tools (character builder, character sheet, encounter builder, etc.). I don't remember seeing anything about resuming UA or variant features (such as spell points) coming to dndbeyond in the foreseeable future. I think they got very excited about the possibility of additional STUFF than the recent releases that have been kinda disappointing.
I saw something on reddit during a free minute at work and jumped over to the forums three minutes after Halfwing post the issues and support thread and instantly I was SQUEE!!! like a little girl anime. Saw the book was pre-order and started sharing on discord. Went back 20 minutes later and saw it was live and bought it. I have the book over on my shelf with a couple of other 3rd party books and about a dozen or so WotC 5e books. I have absolutely no issue with paying full price for the dndbeyond version when I have the book already, I love the book, I love the publisher, I love the author, I love the influence that introduced me to this game years ago. I also enjoy the product WotC has given us over the years and want to play it all of the time. They've made some dumbass mistakes this past year (Wizards execs: check my purchase history, this is my first purchase from you this year!), but I am still interested in the financial viability of this tool and overall the game it provides me.
So take my money dndbeyond. I want Dungeons of Drakkenheim next
Edit- I did spend the next half hour removing 9 subclasses, 7 feats, 5 backgrounds and over 35 magic items from my homebrew collection.

I only read your post, not any others, so I don’t know if anyone has said this yet but, all UA from before the release of Tasha’s will never be added. They’ve even been removed from the old D&D website from before DDB was acquired. These were part of a completed set of playtests and they will not return.

Awesome to see 3rd party content being offered and that the Critical Role tie-in with DnD seems to still be going strong.

Does 3rd party content starting to appear mean that there is a chance we could get Exploring Eberron on DnD Beyond?

Spell Points are in the DMG. There just isn’t an option to use spell points on D&D Beyond yet.
This makes me very happy. We got the physical book a while back. Never got around to homebrewing anything in. Might be time to pick this up.
