The items I am refering to are the Very Rare items that increase a specific ability score and it's maximum by 2. (For example, the Tome of Understanding, the Wisdom one) Now, assuming the maximium can't exceed 30, is it possible to stack multiple of these on a character?
Yes, they stack since each one raises the maximum. I just added a 2nd tome of clear thought just to make sure it would work on the DNDB character sheet and it did. You have to for some reason keep the book equipped though on the DNDB character sheet (for no good reason since it should be permanent).
I did not know this and at first thought it might be a bug, but turns out there's nothing RAW I can see prohibiting repeated use. Relative obscurity of the items may discourage repeated use, but I suppose someone could go about questing for 30s.

Just a note that sometimes DDB allows non-RAW stuff to be done, so basing something on DDB allowing it isn't a great guide.
That said, yes, they can be stacked, so long as your score doesn't go above 30.

If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
I have more of an issue with DNDB not supporting RAW stuff, like not having a spell from Strixhaven initiate setup to upcast or having a spell automatically stored in the Strixhaven primer. And also, it allows multiple tomes but you have to keep them readied, and that is not RAW. You should be able to give them to a gnome...to hold onto for 100 years. LOL.
I can see that being a frustration. At the same time I think it's important for any character sheet to be able to explain how/why a stat arrives at such a high level. In a perfect world, an ability score on a character sheet could be clicked and you'd see the "lineage" that brings it to 25 or whatever. I guess keeping the book on paper is the current compromise.

Yes, think of the equipped book as the knowledge of the book rather than the book itself. It's not just so the user can see how the stat got so high, but it's also likely how the information is stored for the builder itself.

My homebrew subclasses (full list here)
(Artificer) Swordmage | Glasswright | (Barbarian) Path of the Savage Embrace
(Bard) College of Dance | (Fighter) Warlord | Cannoneer
(Monk) Way of the Elements | (Ranger) Blade Dancer
(Rogue) DaggerMaster | Inquisitor | (Sorcerer) Riftwalker | Spellfist
(Warlock) The Swarm
One potential snag, for those using encumbrance, wouldn't the "equipped knowledge" literally weigh on the PC in a way that's probably not intended?
