i am worried about wizards getting a huge buff i remember they had that spell crafting thing in their tool kit in the playtest but that would be busted to allow
How did that work in the UA?

They had a spell that let them modify other spells in their spellbook to hack/edit aspects of them, basically like metamagic you could prep in advance. At higher levels you could make the modifications permanent. It was a cool idea but would definitely have made Wizards even more powerful than they already are.
You know what, I don't care if it made them more powerful. That sounds pretty cool.

Little bit, but there was a hefty gold cost and it bumped the spells a level if you made them permanent, so I'm not sure if it would have upset the power balance that much. But, for better or worse Wizard's the tall poppy here, so if any class was going to be review bombed as "too powerful" in the UA for new features, it would have been them.
I just hope the monk is the same as the last playtest, that one was amazing. I'm very curious to see what they did with the Bard's spelllist.
Considering UA8 monk got 90% approval they'd have to be pretty bonkers to change it too much.
Bard went back to a dedicated list like every other class, the whole Arcane/Divine/Primal thing is dead (and therefore so is their need to pick and choose one of those lists.)

I know, but I'm still interested to see if they mention something about the new one.

I'm sure their list will get new goodies like every other spell list (and maybe we'll learn more about that in the spells video) but it will definitely be a Bard list rather than an Arcane list or a collection of schools.
Most interested in the spells and dragon designs, especially the latter. MCDM and others have raised the bar quite a bit - wondering how WOTC has decided to improve monster design, fix CR, and ensure the newest versions of monsters provide good challenges for the characters.

It was in UA5 if you want to read it in more detail:

See "Modify Spell" and "Create Spell" in the spells section, as well as the wizard features that granted access to those spells.

I will just be happy if encounter builders are more accurate as a result of tweaks to classes and monsters.

2) I assume she will receive and post next week's schedule after tomorrow's Ranger video, just like she did last Friday.
Hi everyone, Has it been mentioned somewhere how any new class mechanics will be factored into existing characters here in D&D Beyond? Thanks -Ben

I'm on vacation from 7/3-7/7 so I'm glad there's no reveals then 😁

There a new list for Bard and Cleric reveals?
