I am glad they reverted it back, very much did not like the new one. Burying everything into more menus makes everything harder to find and takes more mouse clicks to get there. Yes, it looked cleaner, but when running a game, getting to the information faster is more important.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Playing D&D since 1982
Have played every version of the game since Basic (original Red Box Set), except that abomination sometimes called 4e.
When I noticed it, I saw that the Encounter Builder said ALPHA. I was very excited, and thought that WOTC had finally put some love into the Enounter Builder. I was disappointed when clicked and saw that it looked exactly the same. Then the next day, I saw that things had gone back to what they were.
Does anyone know if WOTC have finally decided to update the Encounter Builder, or if they are just planning to rename the current product as "Alpha" because they have no intention of putting any more work into it. This is a sore spot for me (and many others that I have seen post in the past), as I have no need or desire to use Maps.

They made some comment on one of their announcement pages some time back that the Encounter Builder is not planned for further development and that Maps is the focus for 2024 rules. I posted the link in this thread, but Caerwyn summarized the findings of that link in the OP.
Hey Heroes,
Am I hallucinating, or did D&D Beyond have a navigation bar menu at the very top of the page for a short period yesterday?
I swear that for about 24 hours, the main site navigation was a different kind of drop-down, and today it's back to the way it was before.
Am I crazy, or did anyone else notice a temporary UI change? Let me know! 😅

Yes, it did change, and they did revert it

Appreciate the confirmation! I wonder why they reverted back

Apparently some users were encountering bugs, so they likely reverted it while they fixed the issues

That makes sense. It's encouraging to see the site getting active work. Really hoping it becomes what it deserves to be!
Also, I gotta ask how you got that title!
