Is there any plans to allow the ability to increase spell slots? I have a magic item that attuned, gives me 2 additional level 2 slots. I think being how so many otherwise non editable things are editable this should be something we can do?
I'm curious about this exact question if anyone has an answer? Basically DM issued an item that doubles my available level 2 spell slot's. (From 2 to 4 slots.)
How can I edit this on my dndbeyond character? Thanks all.
I was looking at the spell creator, looks like you can do a Cantrip that will give additional slots, pretty sure you set it up for level of spells and number of slots, I don’t know how to do it but, am doing trial and error currently.
Has anyone figured anything out? I'm trying to add a 5th level spell slot to a 7th level Wizard, and learn a 5th level spell to go along with it. 7th level Wizards should only have one 4th level spell slot, so I need a custom way of adding a spell slot to the character.
I just earned the boon of high magic so I'd really like an answer to this. I haven't found one yet.

It's also probable that there will be additional modifiers added as part of that implementation, that will do what you want here.
Thanks for pointing that out. I'll be keeping an eye on it now. :-)

Unfortunately not. There is a Modifier Type for Spell Slot Increase, but requires putting a Modifier Subtype and it doesn't give you the ability to populate the field. It looks like they're working on it, but have only half implemented it. As is, I can't figure a way to apply this boon.
really wish they added this function seeing as it's part of the core ruleset and they seem to have halfheartedly started work on it but then gave up. The function is almost there in the feats but not actually usable...

It's been almost a year now and the "General Features System" has come and gone. Please enable homebrew or otherwise to make additional spell slots as they are a part of the core Dungeon Masters Guide. It's a little ridiculous that development mapping has dice skins ahead of actual mechanics from one of the main books.

Unless there is a way and i'm just missing it?

Doubles! Lucky dog, I just found a thing that gives 2 additional, still amazing though

Maybe use a Ring of Spell Storing as a template?

I like the idea, but the main purpose of what I want is to have it on the actual spell page, sadly I forget items I have all the time lol
Sorry, what do you mean, as a template?
Any luck with this?
Not so far

I expect Boons will be added as part of the "General Features System"

Any updates on this? I too just got the Boon of High Magic and still cannot figure out how to add a spell slot.
I believe there's a workaround option using feats. Have a look here; it should go similar to the attunment slots:

Can a mod or someone from the staff confirm that this is broken and that it's in the backlog to be fixed?
