I thought players and characters were separate now, with a 12 player limit and 99 character limit?
But thanks for the test, I guess I'll get started and deal with issues as/when they come up
This is correct information. I have over 50 “PCs*” in one campaign so I can personally confirm that character count ≠ player count. As to the numbers you listed (12 players, 99 PCs), I learned that same information from two different sources, one of the Mods (Davyd), and one of the Staff (Stormknight). Personally, I have faith in 98-99% of the information from those two. That other 1-2% is some pretty darned esoteric homebrewer stuff that will likely only ever come up for 1-2% of the homebrews that weirdos like me would try. (That’s usually one of my favorite IRL “downtime activities.” 🤷♂️)

I often create some of my NPCs as PCs to help me get to understand them better as characters so I can RP them better for my players. (I redo them as abridged combat versions using Monster statblocks if I expect them to get into combat against the party because that’s way easier to run in combat, but I digress.) To organize them I shove them into a “[Campaign X] (NPCs)” campaign to make it easier for me to cycle through them when I need to for saves, and notes, etc.
You should be able to go into the My Characters collection and copy the character, then deactivate or remove the old one and replace it with the copy.
Now that one of my players has claimed the character, it no longer shows up in My Characters, and I can't find any other place to copy a character. I can still edit the character, but I can't seem to make a copy of it.
Hello, I just had a question. I was looking to Unassign a character that I had, but it isn't in a campaign yet. Do you know how I would go about doing this?
The character must be in a campaign to be unassigned. If you are a player, the DM should have sent you a campaign link. Click on the link and you will get an interface that allows you to add a character. If you are the DM, go to the campaign screen, click in “copy link” and paste that link into the url bar of the browser. Hit return and tou will get the same interface.
You can join a new campaign without removing yourself from old ones, but yeah, you can. Just open the campaign, find your character, and click “Leave”.

Playing high charisma characters with no real life charisma - the only fantasy that still eludes me.
Could be, but the same solution still works. Remove and reinvite as needed.
Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].

Secondary question, can an DM of a campaign unassign a character? I no longer have access to my account but it won't let me access the charater
Can the deactivated character's Owner remove himself from the campaign and accept invite from other campaign?
You can join a new campaign without removing yourself from old ones, but yeah, you can. Just open the campaign, find your character, and click “Leave”.
