I hope that it's later rather than sooner. I had thought there was a tendency for DDB to "purge" UA stuff when a new book came out. But having said that, I thought the Undead pact had been around longer than that, so you've eased my mind somewhat. :)
You're probably thinking of the Undying Warlock, which shares some similarities but is waaaaaay different from the Undead UA. In the meantime, it should be good until we have further notification on whether it's been okayed/revised/cancelled.
To be honest, the only part of this I was still looking forward to at all was the Class Feature Variants, and the more I have read from the leaks, the less I even care about those. The more I read about Tasha’s the more I wish the entire book was just a bad dream I could wake up from and realize it isn’t real.
Wow, what happened? Were your expectations too high? Have the games you play in/run changed that you just don't see value in it anymore? Keep hope alive!
I'm honestly quite excited about this book. I've preordered because I want to use some of the content for a current character. I especially like that we get new fighting styles and invocations.
The Undead Warlock has only been around for about 3 months and a week now. It isn't coming out in Tasha's because it is likely planned for a future release, probably a Ravenloft or Innistrad setting book. It will still remain in the UA options for this site until it is archived.

DDB doesn’t “purge” anything at all. WotC tells them to “archive” stuff, and DDB does it. Even when something is archived, if you already have it on your character you can continue to use it.
The overabundance of Half Elves as they are now objectively the best class in game.
(I presume you meant race.)
*Sigh.*
What about:
Yuan-ti, Aarakocra, Aasimar, Mountain Dwarves, Lightfoot halfings, Variant Humans, Satyr, Warforged and many others that other people have claimed will be totally overpowered with the Tasha's changes. They aren't overpowered, you now just choose a species because of it's traits rather than ability score bonuses.

People should have been doing that anyway this whole time. If people were restricting themselves to only choosing their race based on Ability Score Bonuses, that was their own stupid fault and no one else’s.

Yeah. I can understand arguments about why the Tasha's rules break lore, even if I don't agree with them, but them being overpowered isn't really a concern to me.

Yeah, race sorry lol
Used to be you would choose a race and class and they would synergize or not, but there were pros and cons. Now there is being a Half Elf with +2 to one attribute, +1 to 2 others, darkvision, fey ancestry, and 2 extra skills or being another race that is sub optimal. You can play any race you like with any class you like, just anyone that has the same class and is a Half Elf is better at it than you are and has more skills to be better at 2 other things as well.

Mountain Dwarves with +2/+2, darkvision and Light/Medium Armor prof, will probably be reasonably popular as well.
Really though, there were optimal/suboptimal combos before too. Half-elves/Variant Human were probably the most dominant as far as optimal building. But without having to worry about ability modifiers, at least you can still use point buy to hit 16 in your main stat at level 1, regardless of what race (traits) you want to use.

Also the aforementioned "problem" races (Yuan-ti, Aarakocra, Aasimar, Lightfoot halfings, Variant Humans, Satyr, Warforged) will continue to be strong as a lot of the powerful aspects they had they still have (Magical Resistance, Flight, Feat at first level, etc...) but now they can freely move the stats about to make any build.
Aarakocra can now go STR +2 and CON +1 and carry just about everyone 50 ft into the air and drop them as a bear totem barbarian.
Yuan-ti can now move their ASI to make them a +2 mental stat and +1 dex or con to maximize a caster of ANY kind not just CHA.
Warforge can +2 INT and +1 Dex and become a super tanky bladesinger.
However, DMs are still able to limit whatever they feel like from the above and I like the options they give...even if a good percentage of DMs will probably not go for it. Options, IMO, are always better and the DM and group can limit what they want.

Well, not according to their notes on UA material (emphasis mine). If functionally, it doesn't work that way, I'm more than happy - but I'm just going by what they have on their site.
THIS IS PLAYTEST CONTENT
The material here is presented for playtesting and to spark your imagination. These game mechanics are in draft form, usable in your campaign but not refined by full game design and editing. They aren’t officially part of the game and aren’t permitted in D&D Adventurers League events. If this material is made official, it will be refined based on your feedback, and then it will appear in a D&D product that you can unlock on DDB.
If this material is not made official, it will be removed from DDB following the playtest period and you will need to replace it with another option.
Switching off of everything being CON mod to Proficiency Bonus... reward us for investing in Constitution over Strength...
Reducing Tail attack from 1d12 to 1d8... I think 1d12 was probably strong for a reach weapon while still being able to grapple targets with one/both hands or shield... but 1d10 would have been in line with other reach weapons.
Existing Sorcerers not getting dedicated spell list... Divine Soul maybe not since it gets access to all cleric spells... but Draconic, Shadow, Storm, and Wild should have gotten similar dedicated spell lists
(Random Wishlist) Wizard... specifically Abjuration Wizard.... not getting Armor of Agathys
I am EXTREMELY excited about this book, but these would be the things that slightly disappointed.
Every supiscions i had of it been once again a lackluster and halfbaked product, was confirmed with the leaks.
The Leaks that where confirmed to be true when people started to be able to buy the physical copies of the book early and confirms whats in it.
There is some interesting things, but once again its barebone, and it goes with the eternal Mantra "Your DM can homebrew something using it, the books are just a "Guide" for you to use"...
If i want a "Guide" for my DM to Homebrew, then i'll go on a Homebrew Website, i wouldn't buy a 30$ book...

Okay - so as my daughter's character levels up, she'll still get access to the Undead subclass's options? That's what I've been trying to figure out - currently, she's a 4th level warlock (Undead); is what you're saying that when she hits 6th level, for example (provided she hasn't removed the subclass), she'll get access to the "Grave Touched" class feature? If so, that's excellent news.
