A great addition with the 'creature' feature for familiars, mounts, pets, wild shapes, etc. a major improvement. I'd love to see more tinkering and improved based on many of the suggestions made by those post their suggestions before me. One simple little thing I would like to see is the 'notes box' in the creature customize area expanded just a bit and placed so that on the main screen area the 'note' pops up under the instead of all bunched together on the right side just for a better look and not waste so much space.
For an easy example check my character Guido the Killer Imphere with the 'imp' familiar in the new 'creature' section for how the notes I added... affect the look and text flow and if it cannot be positioned more under for the text to space out and fill the entire area underneath. Again fantastic job... thank you, thank you!!!
I like that is his full name "Guido the Killer Imp" by chance?
Is there a way to add my homebrew creatures to the list? Did i miss it? I think that functionality would solve some of my issues with this (and might be easier to implement?).
My example: I have a panther beast companion for my ranger, but with a slight rule alteration that allows my ranger's proficiency modifier to replace the Panther's in the Pounce feature DC (just to let i scale, somewhat slowly). I created a homebrew version of the statblock as a private homebrew and it would be a dream to be able to just import that stat block into the creatures section of the character sheet.

You can absolutely do this - it's how it's designed to work!
Just go to your character sheet and add your homebrew monster in the same way you would add an official monster. :)
Your character will need to have "homebrew" toggled on to do this in their options page. Also the homebrew monster will need to be within the parameters of any filters that are set within the add creatures.
Got it now. My bad, i didn't check if homebrew was turned on for the character in question. This is so awesome! I've been waiting for this update, so thank you!

Thank you! Yes to answer your question I enjoy coming up with and using odd, unusual, or creative names when possible for my PC's, NPC's, familiars and such as much as possible. Guido's warlock mistress by the way is named 'Boosandei Belfrye', nickname 'Boo' for short that works well for having an Imp familiar named 'Guido'.

Thank you for adding that small but extremely helpful tip that certainly takes care of all my thoughts on the limitations of how I was thinking it worked, boy was wrong! I just needed that little push towards the 'homebrew monster' end of it for it all to click. Through that, I can in the bits of info, etc. that I want or find helpful as a need to know for player and DM to reference. But... one tiny suggestion you guys might want to consider, how about some additional tags like to choose from; 'Familiar', 'Wildshape', 'Pet', etc.

I would like it if we could filter by wildshape and it would automatically apply your character level CR limit, No swimming, No Flying, beast in respect to Moon Druid. Though I feel like that is already in the plan. Similar to when Artificers become official the "select a beast" for your mechanical companion will also be a thing. I also think simulacrum would be a good tab to add since that would need similar tracking with selection of a beast or humanoid.

The lack of inflection in text means that a reader of any post adds their own inflection as they "verbalize" it in their head. I write long and repetitive in an effort to be clear and avoid my intent from being skewed or inverted. I am also bad at examples. It is common for people to skim my posts pull out the idea they think I mean or want to argue against or focus on my bad example instead of the point I am actually trying to make. I apologies for the confusion my failure to be clear and concise creates.

Unless I'm missing something in your request, this is already the case, as long as "Filter Using Wildshape Rules" is checked.

I believe they said Moon druid does not respect its different options yet. Also, I simulacrum had not.

Moon Druid didn't, but it does now for me; I checked before I posted above. In terms of simulacrum, my apologies: I meant to take that sentence out of my quote of your post and forgot, as I was only responding to the Druid issue.

I double checked myself and you are indeed correct!! I do note that Cave Bear (the Polar Bear variant, with 60ft of darkvision) is not listed and dependent on the Druidic background might be more appropriate. Right now Sorcerer's Hound of Ill Omen, Cave Bear, and simulacrum are my primary wish list adds but I suspect Artificer's Construct Companion which uses a selected beast's stats will be on the list as soon as the Full Eberron release is out. As they stated Hound of Ill Omen is being looked at, I suspect the other 3 may be planned for as well.

I love the addition of this feature,my only problem with thus far, has been the fact that using the manage creature tab gives my players access to all of my homebrew monsters, I would like the option to hide some of these monsters from their view, after all some of them are huge spoilers for my campaigns.

If these are monsters you homebrewed yourself, try removing them from your collection. They will still be in the "my creations" section. That might remove access for your players. (I would suggest testing with one or two first to see if it works)

That is what I do... i.e. remove them from my collection and they are still in the "my creations" section if I need to use them or introduce them later by putting them back into my collection. You can also put something in a collection temporarily, as DM or have a specific player's drop it in on their character sheet and then DM remove from his collection with it staying placed on the character sheet with no else able to add it to theirs or see it (unless shared), but after removed from collection if player accidentally removes from the sheet they won't be able to put right back in without re-adding to collection. Seems to work just fine doing it this way for me.
This is amazing, going to be very useful for my players to track their pets and mounts.
One question: Will carrying capacity or an inventory-like system be added to Creatures, notably mounts or even beasts of burden? My players currently have a huge supply of rations for their Chultan expedition, and considering the weight of rations and the encumbrance we’ve said “the anklyosaurs are carrying them all.” Would be cool to be able to add them into the creature section for easy tracking and management.

We would likely do something with mounts/ carrying capacity when we get to the overhaul of the inventory system we have projected for next year.

I just became irrationally excited for next year.

Will there be a way to modify stats for creatures that are made through the find steed spell?
Im hopeful this will eventually become a fauure. for the time being, just use the homebrew tools to customize the stats, and then add the homebrew steed to your character. (No need to publish your homebrew to do so)
