Homebrew spotlight is not something we plan on doing every week. Since we were unable to stream last week, and we usually do a lot of Q&A at the end of the month, Adam said he wanted to focus on Q&A this week. :)
When will the encounter builder/tracker transfer the HP of the Campaign characters? Or at least put their max HP instead of 0. Only tedious thing left in the beta is constantly asking the players their HP. Usually having to type it in right after you built up the encounter said "roll for initiative" and then...." wait..damn...what are your HP again?"
Otherwise, great work...Truly helps a lot.
Maybe pre-load encounters from a purchased module.. but I can wait :) Lets get the HP fixed.
I usually look up their HP right before the encounter under the campaign view and add it in manually. I find it interesting to see which players are truthful about their current HP! lol.
It will be great when they add the HP automatically though. It is tedious to transfer it for a party of five or more on every single encounter.
Is there a chance we can get more of an update to the class feature variants then just wip. I feel like we have been getting that update for a while now and I was hoping we could get a few more pieces of information.or are you just going to wait until TCOE before we get an update
Also, can we please, please have the encounter builder populate with PC hitpoints? It's such a pain with a large party to put in every player's HP each time...

Why is the DM tracking player HP? I get the reason for wanting it, that's nice and all but the player should be tracking their own individual things like buffs and hit points. The DM would be tracking debuffs and monster HP.
The DM can't do everything and that was probably the logic going into it.

I would assume it'll be done before Tasha since that is when those features officially go live. It is weird that most unearthed arcana is served up within a couple of weeks but this one has taken 9 months longer than the average. Considering the book hasn't even been announced for pre-order here yet when normally that also goes live pretty quick to me, is a cause for concern but we shall see.

Some DMs like to know HP and track also to fudge numbers a little and make things tense. Not personally the way I do it, but I think it's prevalent enough to warrant included at some point.
Hello all! New here and I’m stoked to start playing. However I have a question… In the character creation from what I remember all the stats, shouldn’t the big number be at the top and the smaller plus or negative numbers be in the smaller circular box underneath? Thanks.

You can set it either way to your preference on the “home” tab of the character builder. But with the Score (big number) on the bottom and the Modifier (small number) on to it is more convenient for the built in Dice Roller.

Well... most Unearthed Arcana has only been additional content upon a preexisting framework of rules. This is something relatively quick and easy with the current tolls: it's not dissimilar - if not outright equal to - using the home-brew tools D&D Beyond gave use.
The Class Feature Variants Unearthed Arcana really undermines that framework. The entire character's and class' models must be redefined at their fundamental levels to account the extra flexibility.
The developers must do this while preserving the existing status quo, which must be seamlessly re-modeled upon the new paradigm, and without breaking any of the millions of player characters and tons of home-brew content their customers made.
I'm not surprised if they want to wait until they have a higher confidence on this technology before making bold announcements about a product that will use it. I know that uncertainty is difficult to cope with (it is, for me), but they are refraining from selling the bear's skin before they've caught it, and this is something I really, really appreciate in a company; especially nowadays, when business seems to be rooted on promises and gamble.

Agreed, so refreshing for a company to want to release software FINISHED AND TESTED! I love the system, particularly when combined with Beyond20.

Cool. Thanks for the reply! I’ll look forward to the next time you feature some then. It’s cool to see stuff I might not normally see.

Good point on the campaign view...I'll keep that in a tab. Thanks.
Random encounter builder? YES!!!

From the changelog, what does extraneous spells mean?
There was a glitch where some homebrewed spells were populating character sheets that they should not have been. That has apparently been fixed now.

Any plans to squash the problems about Dice rolling Freezing on an apple device?

Random encounter generator is delicious. Would make DMing a lot easier!
