Grimbald is not sure, with big belly and breasts it is likely to represent fertility which is an aspect of the Mother. If so, then it would be an object that an aspiring mother would keep close hoping that connection to the Mother would increase her chances of conception.
Esa sees RL looking at the hide and points at the stronger members of the party. "Let's take anything big we wish to keep towards the mouth of the cave. Augustin can watch over it while we continue."
Vakiel will do as Esa directs and attempt to drag the dead ankheg over to the opening. “What now? Do we need to clear the rest or do we head back?”
'my owl saw another skeleton in the fungal garden, I would like to go and look in there, there were also young Angkeg and some eggs in the hatching chamber so they probably need to be disposed of as well, unless we could train them up to be of use to the town at all?
RL thinks that it's unlikely for anyone to be able to train an ankheg without magic as they exclusively run on instinct, like ants. It is possible young ankheg could grow up not to associate humans with food with familiarity, but it would be risky. A full grown ankheg running amok could kill a lot of people.
The ankheg body is heavy, so Vakiel, RL, and Grimbald hack off the armour plating that might make good armour and pile it near the entrance. Grimbald also takes the head off. Augustin peers down and asks if everything is going well. While the party explore further he will move the chitinous armour and the monstrosity's head to the surface.
The party are ready to continue to explore, if they wish.

Augustin continues to mill about haphazardly around the entrance to the area. He hears the distant sounds of fighting floating up through the cave. This is worse then sitting in boring meetings and pouring over papers looking for information for the others. He continues to limp around using his great sword as a walking stick in an increasing level of anxiousness.
The thought briefly pops into his of going into help, besides he's almost better.... what is the worse that could happen? He thinks whilst taking a few practice swings before grabbing at his stomach in pain. "Maybe not." he says to no one in particular.
Augustin listens intently to the sounds emanating from the burrow. The first sign of real trouble and he will be down there. Perception 15
Augustin does a few sweeping glances of the landscape to make sure nothing is creeping up on the area. 12
"How long was Esa sitting on my shoulder. I should really keep more of an eye out for her...." He moves his weight again to better support himself. Its unclear if the looks of pain on his face is from his wound, or the thought of Esa's singed wings.
The party head through the ante-chamber where the alchemical fire has expended and there is only a bit of smoke left with some destroyed fungi.
You head to the fungal garden where fungi and mycelium coat the floor and walls - some of these are luminescent, giving some dim light to the chamber. Grimbald and RL recognise some of these fungi as edible. There is an earthy scent with some faint decay detectable. There is a track through the garden from one passageway to the next. You can see the large spiked prints of the ankheg passing through and the smaller prints of the fire beetles everywhere. Nothing is moving here.
You can see a skeleton in rotted leather armour half covered by compost closer to the far passage. Some fungi are growing out of an eye socket.

Can Augustin make a medicine check to determine what actions he can take? Examples include Defensive spells (cure wounds or shield of faith) and class features such as Turn the faithless. I think he is smart enough to realise that he shouldn't be offensive?

Can RL please investigate the skeleton to see if there is anything of value or any information that would let us know how long it has been there or even whom it might be?
Investigation check (if this is the correct one?) 1
RL enters the chamber and heads to the skeleton. He pokes around, pulls the compost away to examine it. The skeleton has remained here undisturbed for some years, some bones scattered, perhaps kicked away by the legs of the beetles. RL sees the skeleton is that of a dwarf. There's a rusty shortsword of dwarven make, and a rotted pouch with some coins spilling out - 44 iron bits, 98cp, 12sp, and a pair of bone dice with flecks of green in the number pips (worth 50sp) in Hammerfast coinage.
Nothing seems to have reacted to RL being in the fungal chamber.

RL will take the sword to show around town to see if anyone recognises it.
RL would suggest we go and take out the larva and eggs next since they are just to our south when everyone is ready

INSIGHT check if the figurine is a symbol of the Mother 23. If so Grimbald would like to keep it.

RL would like to do a nature check to see if the hide of the Ankheg will be useful for crafting armour or anything like that.
Nature 18
RL is unsure. It seems like it could be, but RL hasn't heard of it being done.
Esa sees RL looking at the hide and points at the stronger members of the party. "Let's take anything big we wish to keep towards the mouth of the cave. Augustin can watch over it while we continue."

RL asks the group, fungal garden next?
"as good as any choice"
Esa agrees. "Let's empty this place down to its bones." She also strongly believes in eliminating them, not trying to keep any

Augustin is certain there is nothing is creeping up on him. That he can detect.

Medicine 16
He's figured out what kind of actions are not going to exacerbate his injury and delay healing.
Non physical actions should be ok.
