The Human strikes swiftly, and while the attack skitters off carapace, they see an opening where they might be able to strike again.

I stand in front of Talon and brace myself, ready to swing at the creature as soon as it emerges from the bushes.

The large snarling cat bursts out of the underbrush, leaping for Mark.

Expecting the attack this time, I attempt to step sideways as the creature leaps out and bring my axe around in a powerful swing.

The Human's dagger skitters off the crab... well, it was a good effort, but those shells are awful hard. You feel a bit more sympathy for Ember's efforts to crack into that barrel.

The two crabs swarm you, however, with Blue in the air, and Big Un at fire bolt range.

As I connect, I focus on the strike, and energy of an as of yet unknown source channels through me into the cat.

Blue will drift into range of one of the crabs, and fire a spray of poison at it.

Big'Un smiles as he sees one crab drop and Blue released from the claw but, his smile quickly drops when he sees the two swarm his other friend.

As Mark's axe strikes, and a brilliant flash of green light erupts right in the cat's face, startling it and causing it to abort its attack, as it bounds away into the forest.

Blue drifts down and poofts at one of the crabs before returning to the sky.

The crab clicks and rubs its little mouthparts against one another in agitation.

Big Un follows that up with fire bolt at the same crab, but it impacts the sand just in front of it, scattering newly dry sand across The Human and his two crustacean friends.

((The camera cuts to Ember gathering up leaves at the edge of the forest. She's facing away from the treeline, and a brilliant flash of green lights up the darkness behind her. She turns around, sees nothing out of the ordinary, and shrugs and returns to her gathering.))

Breathing heavily, my fresh wounds still dripping, body slightly sore from the exertion, I stand and watch the woods for a few extra moments, not willing to trust the cat is gone. Not seeing any sign of it, I quickly stow my axe then grab the pack. Falling to my knees next to Talon, I did through the pack, attempting to find anything I can use to stabilize him. 

"C'mon, there has to be something here.... Hang on Talon, I won't let you die... I'm sorry I couldn't remember more to protect you...I have to remember.."

With the big cat retreating from immediate view, you're struck by the sudden certainty that you think you could have talked to it. It's the sort of jarring thought that makes you pause, but you shake yourself out of it, as that isn't going to be useful in helping Talon. Maybe you can figure out a way to stop the bleeding?

Frustrated, I slam my fist on the ground. Doing so, I notice the bandages on my hand, and begin looking for anything to use as a tourniquet.  Glancing around, I grab some vines from the trees and attempt to stem the flow of blood
