I made this new character who is like this (homebrew) penguin blood hunter, and wanted to play him in our current adventure. The DM said i can, but my current character ( Human Barbarian ) needs to somehow die. But i dont know how i should make him die.
Talk to your DM, see if there could be an opportunity to valiantly sacrifice yourself for the party. Try not to think about it as how to kill your character, but what makes the best story.
Agreed - think of it more like your favourite TV show and one of the actors isn't available for the next season, so the character needs to be written out.
Absolutely talk to the DM about it - they know what sort of peril the party are going to be facing.
Depending on the character, they could (as per Omega_Dave's suggestion) valiantly sacrifice themself so that the rest of the party get to live, or perhaps they find a natural end to their storyline and decide that they no longer wish to be an adventurer (is there something the character has been questing for?). It's up to you, as a group.
Having handled this a few times as a DM, I also advise that it might be a good idea to let the other players know this is what is happening. If you don't, then there may be issues with getting it to work, such as other player characters going out of their way to save your character somehow, or sacrificing themself instead to save your character.
It can be a lot of fun killing off a character. We had a player that had grown tired of his current character. He and the DM had talked and discussed this, and made arrangements to have the player killed and where we would find his replacement. It is funny, we experienced EXACTLY what Stormknight was warning about. The rest of the party didn't know. We ended up in a massive battle and the player kept dying, and we made great efforts to keep bringing him back to life. When we were finally spent on spells and could not keep fighting, we were all taken prisoner where we met his replacement. His previous character had suffered greatly at the hands of our enslavers and really bonded us together as a group to exact revenge. Later, we found out what had happened, but until then, it was a great couple of evenings trying to save this character that we didn't know was doomed! Luckily, it worked out for us, and it was so much fun.
Penguin? I'm really curious if you're using source material from Team Snow Day. Watch out, if you want to make another change, cause Penguins can't be killed.
I ran a game where a player role played his character getting fed up with the others and straight up left them during an adventure. That was a lot of fun, and made for good drama going forward

I know what you're thinking: "In that flurry of blows, did he use all his ki points, or save one?" Well, are ya feeling lucky, punk?
Quick story for you to help it... This was not arranged at all... DM was shocked by what hapenned.
my group and i were on a boat. the kobold mage on the boat had secured two bracelet rings that one of the players (8 year old child, rogue) had given him to identify. when the child came back to get them, the kobold told him he needed more time to study them and refused to give it back. the child remembering what khandor (my PC, Sorcerer Draconic Cleric Life) told him about good and evil. he came to the conclusion that the man in front of him was evil cause he refused to give him back what was his. remembering what his father (an evil man and an evil wife who used the child for child labor and pedophilia) gave him a special bag and said "son, if you ever wanna have fun, open this bag in front of your enemy." and thus he openned the bag... a giant smokey abyssal snake came out, encircling both the child and the kobold. Khandor and theresa (my other rogue friend) decided to get in for the duel the snake asked. leaving no choice but to eject the child (which khandor had taken charge of) and the kobold out, because khandor didn't want them to die. i was ready to sacrifice for the group and thus knowing full well it was a death match. i stacked the odds in theresa's favor in order to save all the others including theresa. Once the fight was over and my dead body was there. the black smoke entered my body ad i became a sentient dagger. my last few words the DM allowed me to say as a ghost as my body was being transformed were "Don't fear friends, for i have no regrets. I knew full well what i was in for and i accept my demise with joy as i know i have saved you all, like i wanted to. There was no greater honor for me the to do this, for you ! Farewell my friends and remember... the world is much brighter then it seems !"
yeah i was playing Lawful Good in a party of mostly neutral people who didn't give a ... But after this ending, the child player was in shock and told me, this is exactly what will bring back the child toward the good alignment. he was in shock, he had effectively killed a player because of his actions. another guy who didn't take this seriously was also in shiock as he realised, he had just taken out a player from the group. we had to convince him that being dead isn't the end of the game. nevertheless, it was an awesome development... i knew my characters flaws (sacrificing himself to save others) would bring me to a new character, but i didn't thought it was this fast. nor was the DM expecting me to take it all head on like that.
all in all, i now have a a new character and i still have my old one, just that he's now a sentient dagger called Serpent Dagger of the Duelist !
Hint: its an evil abyssal being that fused with Khandors essence... the more the dagger absorbs souls of dead people, the more powerfull and free i become... but i might end up being the big bad of the story if the players do not take care of the problem. as my beloved Lawful Good slowly becomes Chaotic Evil. at least thats the long con the DM and i are going for.
see this is just one way it could of ended, there are many others.
oh and one last thing... Khandor always told the others he was a true dragon stuck in eladrin form... while the others have no idea what it meant... i did and i loved it... the kobold last word when the session ended looking at khandor becoming a dagger... "Oh god, what will i say to his father ?"... heres the answer... unbeknown to the other playrs.. khandor is a silver dragon that lost his powers long ago because he stayed amongst people too long. my father he is speaking of, completely the DM choice, even i didn't know much... is one of the ten dragons that rules the world.

Easy enough since you play a Barbarian. When the party finds the big nasty shout "LEEEEROY JEEEENKINS" and charge.
You also don't need to kill him you could always have him leave to deal with some of his own issues that way you always have access to him incase your Bloodhunter werepenguin bites the dust.

My current character is Lawful Evil. He's all about the fight and only respects proven warriors which is why he hasn't killed his current companions, that and he sees them as beneficial.
He will eventually try to kill them because he desires to be the best warrior, strives for domination, and frankly just enjoys killing people.
Maybe pick a bone with your party members or do something stupid like touch a magic item that makes you go into a fearful attack frenzy which forces your party members to attack you... (happened before)
Sit next to the dm and have your dice next time you roll go behind the screen and the dm will adjust the dice to a crit fail on a roll to not fall of a high place and say the damage killed you

Why don't just elope and have children? he is a family-man now he can't go out and risk his life anymore
multiclass 2 levels into palidin, and do compelled dual with a bear or something. then, just do nothing
try to battle the other players in the party.
That's a good way to start table animosity though.
Have him go into a goblin cave with a bucket of daggers and lines on your face to show where to cut and go to sleep
