ok this is fairly unusual for me but my players derailed my homebrew campaign they had to kill the bbegs 3 top guys and needed help with the second guy ok i make a order of mercs basicly a country wide buisness for them to hire guys to help them EXCEPT that they joined it and refuse contracts that del with getting rid of the bbeg ive had somthing simelar happen before with a traveling group of entertainers before in a old campaign but i dont know what to do
If they join an organization and then refuse to take tasks assigned to them, it would be reasonable for them to get kicked out.
I would double check with your players first though that the game/style you are running and the game/style they want to play are the same thing.
You can also have the BBEG start messing with things from a character's backstory. That should get the players' attention and motivate them to deal with it.
Never see it as if the players had derailed your game. Actually you should expect it. Players will always do things that will sort of mess with your game direction. Just rework you game to fit in the new situation or turn of events.
