So I’ve had this idea for a while but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do it. I can certainly take inspiration from the cards but I want to actually have them have mechanics or something maybe? Any and all ideas are welcome
Each card in magic is a spell, like from the PHB spelllist. They're casted by planeswalkers (players) as long as they have mana. So I don't know, maybe have the players to "own" x square feet of a mountain or plains and then they'll have access to Spell X or Y
Make the players go to a demiplane in which they are the planeswalkers and will have to play magic inside the game
Make the cards like that dnd magic deck that I forgot the name, and each card will do something different
I've never been a fan of MTG and kinda tuned out of the game early because it didn't interest me as much as previous sessions. Maybe it'll help with some inspiration though.

The DMG has several magic items which are decks of cards. Be warned that one of them makes for a lot of complications.
