Precision Strike is a mashup feat of the Gunslinger by Matthew Mercer Grit Points structured around the way the Lucky feat is setup. Also, I don't know what area I fall in when using something similar to someone's archetype class. So if this isn't allowed please let me know. (I couldn't seem to easily find the rules on publishing homebrew content nor would I know where this technically falls).
Precision Strike
You have honed your ability to strike your opponent with precision.
You have 3 strike points. Whenever you make an attack roll with a weapon you are proficient with you can spend one or more strike point to perform a strike action. You must choose how many strike points as well as which strike action you would like to perform before rolling to hit. Some of your strikes require your target to make a saving throw to resist the strike's effects. The saving throw DC is calculated as follows:
Precision Strike DC = 8 + Your Proficiency Bonus + Your Dexterity Modifier
Diverting Strike. If the attack hits, the target must make a Constitution saving throw or the next attack before their turn has advantage against them.
Unarming Strike. If the attack hits, the target must make a Strength saving throw or drop 1 item of your choice.
Forceful Strike. If the attack hits, the target must make a Dexterity saving throw or is pushed up to 10 feet directly away from you.
Stumbling Strike. If the attack hits, the target must make a Strength saving throw or get knocked prone.
Steady Strike. You gain an advantage on the next attack roll you make.
Violent Strike. Before you make an attack with a weapon that you are proficient with, you can expend Strike points, taking a -2 penalty for every Strike point expended to the attack roll. If the attack hits, you roll an extra damage die for every Strike point expended.
You regain your expended Strike points when you finish a long rest.
This feat has is based on the Gunslinger Archetype created by Matthew Mercer and the Gunslinger Class from Pathfinder
After realizing that Matthew Mercer's Gunslinger Archetype is heavily based on the Gunslinger Class from Pathfinder I decided to risk the submission of this feat, hoping I fall into a nice grey zone of permission. If it gets past curation I hope people enjoy it.
Most importantly, I like it! It has wonderful flavor and takes a good mechanic and isolates it.
Violent Strike needs a little tweaking in wording. Go with similar wording to sharpshooter.
Before you make an attack with a ranged weapon that you are proficient with, you can expend Strike points, taking a -2 penalty for every Strike point expended to the attack roll. If the attack hits, you roll an extra damage die for every Strike point expended.
"The relevant equation is: Knowledge = power = energy = matter = mass; a good bookshop is just a genteel Black Hole that knows how to read." - Terry Pratchett
I do have to update the wording to include proficient with, you shouldn't be able to make aimed attacks with weapons you are unfamiliar with.
I noticed you included range attack in you example description. Do you think I should limit this to ranged weapons only? I initially left it vague enough that it would apply to both melee and ranged weapons with the thought that a good fighter should be able to target specific body parts too.

Good point! I presumed because the Gunslinger is ranged. In that case, I would rename Deadeye to be Steady Strike as that feels less ranged specific.
Edit: Unrelated, but I would definitely publish this, it's very good.

That is perfect. I didn't like Deadeye, but I couldn't think of a more general term. Steady Strike is perfect.
Edit: I fully plan on publishing it. I am just trying to balance things and make sure the wording is good. I hate the idea of publishing something than going. Oh, that and that and that needs to be tweaked.
I actually am curious if I can improve things like the torso strike, it seems weird that a sword strike would push the opponent back 10 feet. I guess its possible, stead of a stab like action you take a slash push type swing. I don't know. I just have a hard time picturing it in my head.
Really not a fan of this design. It's very redundant with Battle Master maneuvers - conceptually, mechanically, and the specific options provided - but needs additional rules to handle monster anatomy. Introducing an entire subsystem in a feat is also bad form; it's a lot of complexity for something you can't build off of, since 5e doesn't do feat chains and class features can't assume you have feats. The Martial Adept feat can get away with it because it can reuse the Battle Master's rules and integrates with any subclass that has superiority dice.
I know it's meant to be an adaptation of the Gunslinger class's Trick Shot feature, but the class got this wrong too, among other things. (It should've been a Fighter or Rogue subclass in my opinion, and reused the DMG's firearms and rules instead of coming up with different versions of them.)
You have a very good point in the fact that there is a lot of overlap with the battle master. However, I would say the Battle master is a much stronger choice and this is a weaker option for people that choose not to be fighters. Technically I like their naming scheme better because it avoids targeting body parts. I do want to point out though, that I don't think a battle master would be losing to a companion that chooses this feat for the man purpose that the battle master gets to add their die to the damage done in each of these types of attacks, however someone with this feat, just gets to perform the action with regular damage. Its kinda a nerfed battle master. Lastly, the battle master has better terminology that I should look at to adopt for the targeting system. Because you are correct, it does imply that you are targeting body parts, but it was more meant to be like the following:
Target - Head = Distracting Strike
Target - Arms = Disarming Attack
Target - Torso = Pushing Attack
Target - Legs/Wings = Trip Attack
Steady Strike = Feinting Attack
Violent Strike = Precision Attack
And don't tell me feats don't rip off class features or anything, Mobile gives you the same plus more as Unarmored Movement that a monk gets. Savage Attacker is basically a better version of Great Weapon Fighting because it is not limited to just a roll of a 1 or 2 you can do it whenever.
lastly, I do understand your concern with the overlap. It is a valid concern, I am hoping however that my weaker versions of those maneuvers well make it enough different that people will find the use in it. Also, you are correct in pointing out that I should change the target strikes to be more neutral to avoid the confusion with the additional rules to handle monster anatomy. Because as you stated the Battle Master does this and has 0 confusion with anatomy.
