I'm transferring all my paperwork to DND Beyond and my DM enjoys making homebrew items. I was given a 'Ring of Intuition', and having some difficulties to adding the modifiers to reflect the magic item.
Ring of Intuition (requires Attunement) +2 to Proficiency Skills +1 to all Saving Throws You may add 1 Hit Die to your Initiative roll.
I was able to get the saving throws modifier, but having difficulties with modifying the proficiency skills and adding the extra die to the Initiative roll. I'm learning to use the homebrew stuff; am I being dumb and missing something? Send help!
What exactly do you mean by “proficiency skills,” that’s not an actual game term. Do you mean a +2 bonus to all Ability Checks; a +2 bonus to all Skills, or a +2 bonus to only skills in which the character is proficient?
If you mean “all Ability checks,” then you would only need a single modifier: (Modifier: Bonus->Subtype: Ability Checks->Fixed Value: 2)
If you mean to “all Skills,” then you would need to basically use the same modifier, but you would have to pick a specific skill, and then duplicate the modifier for each of the other 17 skills in the game.
If you mean “only skills in which you are proficient,” then that would have to be stated in plain text and the player would have to add a +2 bonus to each of the relevant skills by customizing them directly on the character sheets.
As to the bonus to initiative rolls, that is technically also an Ability Check (Dex), so if you use that first modifier I included for you, then that +2 would also automatically get applied to Initiative. So if that’s not supposed to happen then you would also need to add another copy of that Modifier, but change the Subtype to “Initiative,” and enter a Fixed Value of “-2” to offset the +2 from the other Modifier.
However, there is no way to add any bonus to anything that would automatically match the PC’s Hit Die, that anywhere from 1d6—1d12 depending on PC class, and what to do if they multiclass and have mixed hit dice? Even a specific die (like 1d8) to Initiative rolls currently, the system cannot yet combine multiple dice from multiple sources into a single roll. This is something that would have to be stated as plain text and the Player (you I suppose?) would have to be responsible for tracking that themselves.
Just so you know Sposta, DDB doesn't apply the modifier Bonus - Dexterity Checks to Initiative even if it technically should count. (I found that one out for myself, had to add modifier Bonus - Initiative to account for it.)

Ahh, ha ha. Good catch. (I could have sworn I remembered they had adjusted that by now.) Oh well, no matter. I’ll fix my post. Thanks for the help, without that advantage it looks like I would have failed my Intelligence check. 👍
My group says "proficiency skills" for abilities with proficiency, so I did mean the +2 bonus to skills in which the character is proficient with. Sucks about the Initative roll bonus, but hey, hopefully DNDBeyond can add that in the future.
Thank you Naruhoodie and IamSposta for the tips!
