I have just thrown this spell together and was looking for your thoughts.
Animal Spirit's Blessing Enchantment
Level: 1st Casting Time: 1 action Range: Self Duration: 1 minute Components: V, S, M (a sprinkling of holy water, and a animal token)
Wild animal spirits swirl around you granting you their blessing. Whenever a you makes an attack roll before the spell ends, you can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the attack roll, if that attack hits the number rolled on the d4 is also added to the damage rolled for that hit.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a 3rd level spell slot the dice rolled is d6, a 5th level spell slot the die rolled is d8, a 7th level spell slot d10, and a 9th level spell slot a d12.
Not bad. It needs a language cleanup, but not bad. I think it should probably be a bonus action, and the level scaling should end at 5th level for two reasons:
The juice isn’t worth the squeeze for spell slots higher than that.
Rangers only get 5th level spell slots.
So maybe something like this:
Animal Spirit's Blessing
Enchantment
Level: 1st Casting Time: 1 bonus action Range: Self Duration: Concentration 1 minute Components: V, S, M (a sprinkling of holy water, and a animal totem)
Wild animal spirits swirl around you granting you their blessing. Whenever you make an attack roll before the spell ends, you can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to the attack roll. If that attack hits the number rolled on the d4 is also added to the damage rolled for that attack.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd or 4th level, the size of the die increments to a d6. When you use a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the size of the die increments to a d8.
Yes your wording is a lot better as it was not sitting right with me either, (that is why I asked for peoples thoughts). Also agree with you about the "At Higher Level" change it was going to be a Durid only spell but at last minute thought it was good for rangers as well.
As for for making it a bonus action not 100% sold on that.
Sure thing. I suggested making it a bonus action to make it more inline with spells like hunter’s mark and hex, and so that a character could cast it and take advantage of it on the same turn. But if you like it better as a full action then keep it the same.
I also just realized it’s not a Concentration spell. It probably should be. If you add concentration then I would definitely say it should be a bonus action to cast it.
That one of the reason I made it a full action as I removed the concentration requirement, as try it is created fro a Druid/Barb character, the buff stays for when they rage.
Here is an update on the spell with some change in wording.

I’d add that to my collection.
Edit: Concentration added.
