A player of mine wants to play a Swift blade from Solasta: Crown of the Magister. I have zero experience with making Subclasses. but I have played the game and I am ok with the class being available at my table. I will post a link to the Wiki for the class details https://solastacrownofthemagister.fandom.com/wiki/Rangers i hope someone will be able to help me make the subclass or make it for me. thank you
I won’t make it for you, but I’ll help you make it for yourself. For starters, you can probably find an official subclass that’s already close in some ways and use it as a template for your own subclass. That will make your life easier. After that, you can probably find some of your solutions in the FAQ: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). Then lemme know whatever you cannot figure out and I’ll help you.
I'm not sure what subclass would work best. With the level 7 ability
Battle Focus ➜ As a free action, you can enter a heightened state of battle focus until the start of your next turn, dealing additional weapon damage every time they attack.
Free action that can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per a long rest.
Quick Steps Your speed is increased by 10 feet. Additionally, opportunity attacks against you are made with disadvantage when you Dash. i meant permeant my bad
I think I got it all done. now to just to check to see if I can pull up all the info right. I also wanted to add extra spells to the classes like all the new classes have. but I couldn't figure out what would go with it all

Adds 2d8 damage to weapon attacks.
The best you would do is find a subclass that matches as much as possible as closely as possible in as many ways as possible and then use that.
There is no such thing as a “free action” in 5e. The best you can do is make the feature and add an Action to it with an Activation Type of “Special” and add limited uses to it. You can learn how to add limited uses by reading the Subclasses & Races FAQ #4: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq).
