Hey all, I am trying to create a class feature option where the player is given the option to choose from a list of spells as part of the option. However, in the builder I don't get the option to select what spell is chosen.
For example, I have a Subclass Feature that has a class feature option to choose a level 2 spell that is part of a granted feature based on a previous selection (player chose cult of X in a previous feature, this feature grants a 2nd level spell and has a pre-requisite of cult X in the builder). However, when I check in the builder for this and I select "Cult X" in the initial required subclass feature, the subclass feature appears but there are no options to choose a spell from the class feature option. If I enable Is Granted for that class feature option, I only see "Cult X" (the linked class feature option that ties to the previous one that has the spell options embedded) or "-Choose an Option-" I want to be able to select the spells on offer within "Cult X".
I’m not 100% sure I’ve followed you, but I think I have. If I’m correct then the reason it isn’t working is because it’s a Granted Option. If you make it no longer a Granted option it should work. It’s a goofy thing the system does with Granted Options.
An easier way to describe this is how the Profane Soul Blood Hunter Sublcass feature "Revealed Arcana" is set up. My features are setup idetically to those found in Profane Soul. However instead of picking out a single spell, I want the player to be able to chose from a list of all level 2 spells, like so:
Profane Soul Unsealed Arcana setup.
My selection for a Lvl 2 spell in the Class Option Feature.
With this setup, the player gets no option to choose a spell, they only see the Class Feature Option name in the builder instead, even though the appropriate option is being auto selected based on the pre-requisites (In this case, the Lutheria Option is being Granted, but the player cannot choose the spell that is granted):
Please ignore the lines about it granting specific spells, I want the player to have a choice outside of those defined here
Ahh, you have to designate a “Spell Class” so it knows which list of 2nd-level spells to display. However, if those four are the only options then you can just list all four of them under the “Spell” field and it will only let them choose from among those four spells. (And you also have to designate an Ability Score as the spellcasting ability too.) Please see the Homebrew Subclasses & Races FAQ #s 14 & 15 for more information: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq).
Hmm unfortunately no luck, still unable to choose what spell is to pick when setting the spell level to 2, the class to warlock and the Ability score to use.
I managed to fix it! I had to enable "Has Options" and input a level the option was at for it to present the spell option after the class feature option was selected. Its a little messy but the functionality works at least - thanks for your time you hero :)
Depending on what exactly you want it to do there may be a simpler way to do it. If you PM me with the descriptions for all your subclass features I can help you figure out how to pull it off.

Any ideas on how to sort this? Cheers!

Ok will give this a go and report back. Would be just my luck if its one checkbox ruining this for me haha

Ahh, please see the General Homebrew FAQ #6: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). Report back if that doesn’t solve your problem.
