Recently a friend and I have created this new homebrew wizard subclass; Audiomancy. It focuses on sound manipulation, but is unrelated to music. Most homebrew I found focused on rhythm and music, but I liked one that focuses more on sounds. Despite the name of the ability, I think I did well in this premise, but I have found it difficult to properly implement this feature in dndbeyond. Do any of you tech-wizards know a way where you could do it properly?
The level 14 feature in question:
Symphony of Chaos. You may unleash a chaotic symphony of sounds that you have stored from around you. Whenever an attack is made, or a spell is cast, within 30 ft. of you whilst in combat, you gain one charge to a total equaling half your level rounded up. You may only gain up to 2 charges per round and they reset on a long rest. As an action, you may expend all your charges to unleash a symphony of chaos, dealing 1d8 thunder damage for every charge to every creature of your choice in a 30 ft. radius around you. You can use this feature twice per long rest.
It has a number of charges that you build up from 0 and it has a number of uses that you count down from 2? There's no way to represent both in a single feature and usually the number of things is a count down from some number to 0. So there's not really a way to keep track of the number of charges a PC has built up over the day.
There could be a convoluted way to use a homebrew spell, the mechanics of which could be used to accomplish this. The feature would need a note saying "Cast the spell 'Symphony of Chaos'. Cast it at the appropriate spell level as the number of charges you are using. If you are using more than 9 charges, roll the appropriate number of additional d8." Keeping in mind there is still no way to track the number of charges built up or used.
