Hi so I wanna make the muramasa used by Jetstream Sam in Metal gear rising
the idea is that its gonna have 4 charges where whenever you use said charges you can essentially quickdraw the word with a slight bonus to the attack roll. and if the attack hits a way bigger bonus to the damage. I've been trying to make this but i just cant seem to figure out how i make this setup work. any help would be greatly appreciated
hi so while i do appreciate the help i might've not been specific enough, its for a sword. so unfortunately this tip as far as i can tell doesn't really help me. but i am new to this stuff so i might be wrong.
I've tried to add charges but for some reason they don't show up, also i actually did do that thing with adding the bonuses as plain text. i just thought it would show up with the charges or something but this woks too, so thanks for clarifying
oh wait im sorry it does have it. i have like a character i use just to test that stuff out and it has charges. i just didnt realize you had to click on the weapon to see the charges. my bad and also thanks for the help

You have to add an Action to the feature, and then add Limited Uses to it. Please see the Homebrew Subclasses & Species FAQ #4 for instructions: (https://www.dndbeyond.com/forums/dungeons-dragons-discussion/homebrew-house-rules/131411-a-homebrewers-how-to-faq). The rest would be a combination of snippets and plain text, depending on exactly what you want those bonuses to be.

Oh, if it’s for a magic item you have to add Charges to it under Additional Information. The bonuses would all just be in plain text.

Did you check the “has charges” box and designate a reset condition for the charges?
