I’m in a homebrew campaign and one of my ranger weapons is a short bow that has an extra +1 poison damage. I want to make a homebrew weapon on dnd beyond and I’m having trouble adding it to the damage roll, it’s only factoring in the proficiency bonus.
Trying to put it in so it rolls -> 1D6 + Proficiency Bonus + 1 poison damage

I’m not sure if I’m doing it right
Proficiency bonus is never added to damage rolls, only the attack rolls. Strength/Dexterity modifiers are what get added to both Attack and Damage rolls.
The way to do what you want is to add the following modifier to the weapon:
Modifier: Damage->Subtype: Poison->Fixed Value: 1
The issue is that those modifiers don’t currently add to that actual roll on the character sheet yet. It only gets listed in the “notes” field to the right of the damage roll. You will have to remember to add that 1 damage damage to the total rolled yourself.
The issue has nothing to do with the homebrewer and everything to do with the limitations of the dice roller itself which is still only in beta testing. Once they upgrade that “smart rolling” functionality, you won’t have to remember it anymore.

I hope that helps.
