“Please do. Many thanks for your service.” Vivi finishes up as she turns to Quendar, an eyebrow raising. “My dear, was that a compliment. I think I’m breaking through with you. As much as I would have loved to see you in action, but it’s best to keep ourselves undetected for now. I have a lot to lose from being discovered, so I hope it doesn’t come to that.”
Looking over the lock before they head on she remarks, “Are you suggesting we team up again after this, I knew you wanted to be my co-star. I love a good mystery myself, maybe I’ll take you up on it.” She follows, heading up the ladder.
"I'm sorry but I think I've changed my mind. Best of luck eh?" The halfling fighter says before scurrying off into the darkness.
"I..." Grace trails off frowning but the halfling disappears.
Looking around the party sees it's a darken alley with a large looking stone building. Grace then gestures toward it.
"That's it," Grace gestures. "The door is there," she says gesturing at a stone wall. "It's an illusion," she says moving forward pointing at the wall still. "Anyone any good at disarming traps," she asks next looking over the group.

Quendar cocks his head to one side as Tyril runs off into the night.
"I suggest we argue strongly that we should still get his cut of this evening's endeavors to split among ourselves," he says once Tyril has gone.
He then returns his attention to the "door" Grace is gesturing towards.
"I am no stranger to overcoming barriers to unwanted entry and I do have the tools for the job, though I suspect my expertise may be overshadowed by those with more nimble fingers," he says while looking at Anthix and Morgana.
He looks away from the wall to any other entrances to the alley to keep watch.
Anthix quickly climbs up watching just in time as the halfling disappeared, giving a curt shrug and looking to the "door" before the group.
"I have dabbled a bit, I can try and see... Though what about like... Magic alarms or something like that? Shouldn't someone else check for that while I check for the physical?"
He looks to the rest of the group before looking back at the door and starts to take a look at the lock checking for traps as well as working the lock.

Quendar can not seem to see where any other entrances. Looking at both ends of the alley he sees nothing else to indicate there's other opens besides the ends. The alley seems to be the enter side of the building. There's widows however above on the second floor. (Passively; your rolled perception doesn't yield anything else). Meanwhile Anthix has no luck finding the mechanism to unlock the door.
OOC: Anyone else? Y'all csn help one another too FYI.

As Vivi exits the sewers, cleaning herself and everybody else up with prestidigitation, her cloak shifts back to the plain black it was before.
"What a shame, I liked that scrappy little one." Vivi remarks as Tyril scampers off. "Fine point Quendar. However, I am more concerned that he may go running his mouth. If he's yellow-bellied enough to leave us mid-mission, what's to stop him giving names. It's a shame, I liked the guy, but Kaz may have to put a price on his head."
As Anthix tries to search for a lock, Vivi stands behind him, looking over his shoulder as she tries to make out what's behind the illusion. "You've got this Anthix, if you need a hand.... just pass to your left." To the left of Anthix, if he obliges, Vivi's unseen servant holds his tools ready, passing over whatever he needs when he asks.
(Vivi using help action, not sure which check to see through the illusion, or if it's possible? Also, Quendar should still have bardic inspiration, not sure for how much longer though.)

Investigation 7
Morgana glances upward at the windows. Are there any balconies or other potential entrances? Are the windows on the second floor the kind that can be opened, or even better, are already open?
Anthix curses under his breath trying to pick the lock before shaking his head and backing up "sorry, I'm better at dancing and picking pockets then dealing with a lock like this.... Go for it if you think you can get it" he smiles at Vivi "just careful still I know roughly what didn't work when I try so maybe you can use that to help guide your.... Thing to pick it better?"
OOC: no idea if that can help at all by telling her my struggle and what I did that failed?
Astrid can see the shimmer of the door's outline but having no training in lock picking or trap disarming she can tell very little about how to bypass this particular safeguard.
Arcana check?
Grace looks at the party expectantly.
"This is the only way that doesn't have guards. She's particularly proud of the enchantment here. A hidden door is easily left unguarded. When we enter and exit we must be careful to reset the enchantment or she will surely know a member of the household added the robbery," she warns.
Morgana can see no balconies or even a lip between floors. The windows are flush against the stone wall. This back end of the house looks into the back of yet another large mansion so it wastes no frills on its appearance. It would be very hard for even a skilled climber to scale to a second story window or beyond.
Anthix the lock was too complicated for your first pass over.
OOC: I'll concede Viv is giving you help. But there's no blanket check for disarming then unlocking. It's seperate series of checks. The trap has a DC and the lock has a DC. If I used the same DC for both it'd been SUPER high, eh?

"Hmm. Astrid, if you and Quendar can sort out the particular magicks of this entrance, perhaps someone with slender hands and a delicate touch can get through it with your guidance."
Morgana looks expectantly at the two magic-inclined teammates, then to Grace.
"Grace, those windows, are they able to be opened at all? Keeping options open, unless you know a trigger command to open the door or hide its illusion. Or is the guard presence upstairs not worth the risk?"
Quendar steps up to the hidden door that Astrid has found and looks all along the edges for any runes or sigils that would indicate the method used to arm any trap that's present.
His hands almost touch the wall and door but stop a hair's width away, seeking to pick up traces of the magic used without setting off the trap itself.
"I suppose if this doesn't illicit a positive effect I can always summon Bartram and let him give the door and wall a few pecks and see what he sets off," Quendar says in a quiet voice.
Arcana: 7
(OOC Don't think there's much good adding Bardic Inspiration to that roll)
"The first two lower floors are guarded as well as locked from the inside. I believe she's thrown alarms on random ones too," Grace replies with a frown. "The house guards constantly changing who and how they do thier watches so I won't be any help there," she adds shrugging. "As I said she's suspicious of everyone! This," she gestures at the door, "is the only way I know of that's undetectable because the trap and lock is tricky," she adds still frowning. "There's a servants entrance around the side but it's a busy street even for this time of night and it's guarded on the outside around the clock," she then adds.

While not skilled in the arts of a thief, Astrid is a bit familiar with the various protection magics used to guard access. Studying the door more closely, she tries to discern the specific wards or alarms that might be in play here. Arcana: 15
OOC: Yes, you have an advantage in disarming the alarm trap as well as unlocking the door. Both need separate rolls; you will essentially roll 4 times. EX: 1 roll with your bonuses added then another for the "trap" then two more for unlocking the door. But the separate rolls give you better odds of getting favorable rolls. Your thieves tools are dex mod plus proficiency bonus 1d20. Anyone can chime in if I'm not remembering correctly!
