Patter signals that he'll scout ahead with the usual stealth crew, and get a lay of the land. Looking for any traps the giants may have set, but not expecting any so soon after the city's been sacked.
"There's only eight of us left, we can't shift the cover they put on us, we've been trying to pick and pull at it when they aren't watching, but it's too heavy and thorny."
The guardtower is topped by a mass of timbers, brambles and dense vegetation that the giants seem to be using as a grate to keep the prisoners contained. There is also large rubble blocking the stairway up to the tower that they haven't been able to shift.
"If you can free us, most of us can run, we'll help those that can't."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ayen nods to the commander. "Alright squad, you heard the commander!" Ayen calls to those awaiting his orders. "We've trained in similar conditions, don't mess this up. Do what you do best, but make sure our commander says the first word in the discussion. UNDERSTOOD?" He barks the last word, not really waiting for an answer. "I'm with the commander. Time to show some big bullies a small Elf's might!" He holds his staff in one hand and his shield in the other. Knocking with the staff on the ground, he imbues it with its magic. As he walks, he keeps knocking with every step, making sure the natural magic doesn't disappear. Moreover, he keeps looking around, making sure no one is trying to ambush them... not that he expects a giant to hide very well, but caution is never bad.
(He repeatedly casts Shillelagh so the magical staff is ready when the fighting begins. Also, Perception if it matters: 22.
After getting over the rubble, grandpa will walk about 15ft behind the commander, Black on his side, wand in a hand and wondering why he doesn't have a shield.

Keller pulls out a grappling hook after hearing the townsfolk are trapped in the remains of the tower under the big grate. He throws it up on the edge of the grate, checking to make sure it secured well, and then recruits anyone stronger than him to try to pull the grate off the tower top. Freeing these folk mean fewer vulnerabilities to protect as they proceed to the town hall to deal with the giants.
((I'm not going to make you roll to set the grapple, Bolt is right there and could easily help get it set. You also have the horses you could use to help pull. I'll say that gives Bolt advantage on removing the cover if she'd like to attempt an Athletics check to do so. Though if she already has advantage from being runeified and big, I'll adjust the DC accordingly.))

Whoever is in the lead, BB is beside them. Maybe even a few steps ahead from time to time calling,
"Come out, come out wherever you are!"
He practices a few jabs with his ring hand before tightening on his shield and unlimbering his ax, grin fading to something more appropriate for the occasion.
Keller's grappling hook lands in the right place. Bolt makes sure everyone is protected, then tries to pull off the grate.

If their attempt is successful, Bolt will use her rope to lower the people. Then she sends them off into a direction where they'll find cover quickly. Only then she turns her vengeful eyes towards the town centre and sprints after Storm and the others.
With assistance, Bolt gets the cover shifted enough that the folks within can crawl out with her assistance and get lowered outside the wall.
"Thank ye! We won't forget what you did for us!"
They start making for cover as a booming voice bellows. Looking east, Bolt makes out a giant a few blocks over pointing at her form highlighted atop the wall as she begins shrinking back down.

Patter claps Bolt on the calf in approval and thanks as the people escape the tower, retrieves his grappling hook and line, and then disappears into the shadows ahead, moving quickly to find some kind of vantage point to fire on the giants.
Bolt quickly climbs down, getting ready for a fight with her enemies. She is trying to see what kind of giants they are and if any of them look familiar to her. The faces of her captors from her childhood have been burnt into her memory.

((Bolt, I don't think you'd specified what type of giant, but given that you'd been put to work in the mines, seems like fire giant might be the best fit? If so, you can tell at a glance these aren't fire giants, but can give me a History check to see if you can tell.))

@Bolt
Rough positioning of where you'd have spotted the giant who sounded the alarm and his two friends, before you shrunk back down. You'd estimate it to be ~275-325 ft away through the haze and smoke.

Verne, nervous at the talk of giants, tells all the horses to stay out of sight but close by. He then clambers up the rubble to join the main group.

"It's a bit smokey up here. There seem to be a few! Not anywhere near though. Further away in the city!" Bolt shouts back down.
Then she tries to help the townsfolk. She gives them some rations and water.
"Would you like me to help you climb down? You could use us as a distraction and try to head to the nearest forest. How many of you are up here?"
The water and rations are eagerly received.

Storm nods to those at his side and starts for the giants at a deliberate stride.

BB spreads out a bit from Storm, maybe the other side of the street.
Rusty sighs, and trudges forwards behind Storm.
