No, they're right where they have been. They're just not moving. I only mentioned it because they are kind of ganging up on the one PC that is also in their den. I might or might not play them that way, but when they're 'trapped' in there, that's what they do.
Excruciating lengthy explanation of my whole thought process I typed for some unknowable reason:
I say trapped, but they're really just light averse and the moonbeam has already caused them harm, so they're very reluctant to try to pass through it. Thinking about it, I would say a two handed ranged weapon has a clear shot from.right by Marlyrh in area 7 - the room you entered from. A hand Crossbow or cantrip could be aimed while scaling the wall, but you'd need someplace to stand or some ki d of hovering to fire 2-handed rh8 gs like a bow. There are also those metal arms extending into the center of the column you could try to stand on. If we were in person I'd call for acrobatics check on that if someone tried it. If I was being really 'strict'(?) I might say that due to the gravity inverting midnight, the ballistics of the ranged weapon are harder to predict, giving disadvantage but I'm not doing that.
Marlyth will cast Demiplane using the Chip of Creation that's been attuned to the Tiefling woman and conjure up another shadowy door that is directly linked to the 'Peaceful Sanctuary'. The door appears on a solid surface so that it's readily accessible to Tabaqui.
"Tabaqui, open the door and get inside the room. Angus is there and he needs your help."
Tabaqui says flatly, "I have no skill at all with healing. I think I should continue to do what I do best, or more of us are going to end up unconscious. Why don't you see what you can do in there?"
Round 6
Tabaqui will continue to assault the snake that is grappling Calner.
"Did you drink the potion of healing? The potion will save Angus by restoring his hitpoints. And, if I leave the place and transfer myself to the demiplane, I may get trapped inside my own demiplane or accidentally travel to one of the demiplanes of the Abyss."
Marlyth attempts to explain the critical issue to Tabaqui as briefly as possible while giving him instructions on the systematic approach to the art of healing and medicine.
As Marlyth is using the chip of creation, she must have attuned to it. At this point, then she knows the <randomly generated> extra properties it holds (in game, she's going to discover these as they come up, sound good?)
(Regarding the chip itself:)
1. Beacon. The bearer can use a bonus action to cause the item to shed bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet, or to extinguish the light.
2. Harmonious. Attuning to this item takes only 1 minute.
(Manifestations made with the chip:)
3. Beasts find your creation appealing or off-putting (you decide)
4. Your creation is prone to haze, fog, and other lightly obscured conditions
(@Wile_E_Coyote, Noted. Does the chip have limited charges? Or does it allow unlimited casting of Demiplane?)
It says 'at will'. My understanding is the door remains until the spell ends. I don't know what would cause Marlyth to become trapped there, though it sounded like a credible threat at the time, unless she just lost track of time and overstayed rhe hour.
@Brian_Avery, the bite attack missed, but the constrict attack was a 27, which I believe hits, leaving Calner grappled & restrained, unable to move, though he could use an action to escape.
Tabaqui's shot looks as if it will find its mark, but as it passes through the well, gravuty bends the arc of the arrow in an unexpected shift and it misses the snake, bouncing off the stone wall and clattering to the floor overhead.
<edit: the word choice made me think it was somehow necessary for Calner to move this turn, but really, he csn meet the objective of hitting 2 snakes with 1 lightning bolt with 0 movement, a d since there's no attack roll, the condition doesn't change much>
Dex saves:
Snake 1 19
Snake 2 14
Snake 2 takes a whollop from the jolt of energy as the air in their den fills with the smell of Ozone, but the serpent maintains his grip. The other snake rears its head, hissing loudly at calner as the arcs of lightning dance from bone to exposed bone along the length if the undead reptile's body.
..... It says 'at will'. My understanding is the door remains until the spell ends. I don't know what would cause Marlyth to become trapped there, though it sounded like a credible threat at the time, unless she just lost track of time and overstayed rhe hour.
(@Wile_E_Coyote, that's exactly what I had in my mind, my bad it didn't work out. Timeframes of demiplanes might be different from the timeline of material planes, e.g. one minute = one hour in material plane )
<Wait, was that 3 failed? I'm totally fine with Marlyth just walking through the door on the previous round. I think there was a kind if implied collaboration that just didn't get off the ground. I assume the moonbeam ends on this plane if she steps into the demiplane unless demiplabes are a special case regarding concentration that I'm not aware of, but if she wants to change the location of the door and walk through it, she can do that. Or is this a case where she would need an extra round to give the healing potion? I don't mind character deaths in game, but I don't want it to be due to a miscommunication. Let's take a moment to figure this out before proceeding.>

(Unfortunately, casting a spell (Demiplane) and walking through the door would mark the end of her turn, applying potion or healing spell will require additional action, and another turn. I personally don't mind about the spell concentration:)
Moonbeam was cast to keep players away from the melee range, and contain the snakes.
<I thought about what InedBee said earlier. Maybe in a demiplane time moves differently. As a round represents 6 seconds of combat, it might be possible for the demiplane Marlyth creates to have a dilated temporal flow which causes Angus to experience time and thus take turns differently than creatures on the prime material plane. It's not specifically called out, but I think it's within the allowance of the artifact to modify demiplabe in this way (see slow.
So, InkedBee, how fast does time flow on the demiplane Marlyth created compared to time on Toril? <I may cap this in one direction or the other, but likely you'll just get what you call for.>
(clarification- did you say that the snakes are now not in a position for ranged attacks by Tabaqui?)
No, they're right where they have been. They're just not moving. I only mentioned it because they are kind of ganging up on the one PC that is also in their den. I might or might not play them that way, but when they're 'trapped' in there, that's what they do.
