OOC question: how much in game time passes between the announcement of the arena conditions and the start of the match. Time allowing I would like to change my familiar's form to an owl because of the lighting conditions...but that would require an hour of in game time.
Is that possible?

@Bounces: Time is a little... fluid in the coliseum. So, any swaps like that you can safely prior to your match without issue. Same for using short rest features to get back resoucres like arcane recovery., for example.)

Forge, oblivious to the fact that Darius didn't address him, shows a fancy looking book.
"I got this grimoire. I can't wait to read it."
Lenalia will admire Forge's book as well, and say "We'll that ought to give you a bit extra oomph to your spells, huh? I hope they're still slinging for me, not against me next battle!" With that, Lenalia will pull out her Bandore and attempt to earn back some of the money she's spent on drinks for the evening by serenading the assembly with tales of the arena, albeit a bit exaggerated to be larger than life.
A chime announces the next battle and its conditions, and Tarset withdraws his hand. "Well sorry Falquinor, seems like that game of questions will have to wait until next time. I need to go prepare for my first match. Wish me luck!"
Gathering his supplies and giving a short whistle to the raven that is cracking peanuts at the bar and dropping shells on the floor, he excuses himself to a small private table and begins drawing a ritual circle of transmutation. After an hour of work the raven becomes shorter and fluffier as it turns to an owl.
"Okay Tesrat, I think we are ready. Let's go see what we can do."
With a hoot of acknowledgement the owl hops up his arm to his shoulder as he leaves the common room and heads to the battle ground.

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

The next match will feature any interested level-7 competitors. The match will begin in the next 48 hours. Or sooner, if all level contestants gather before then.
"Alright All Right, I said!", a woman is shoved into the arena. "You arseholes! Next time I'll give you the other end so hard you'll taste it!" she shakes her hammer at someone unseen.
The woman in beaten armor makes a rude gesture before the arena door shuts. "Well, how do we do this thing then?"
@Wysperra: This is long overdue, and sorry about that. Called myself responding to that sooner, but apparently not. -.- In any case, changes noted and everything looks good.
@Glonster: The starting level is 3 for new applicant. So, apart from a reset there, your character will be officially ready.

"A rightful place awaits you in the Realms Above, in the Land of the Great Light. Come in peace, and live beneath the sun again, where trees and flowers grow."
— The message of Eilistraee to all decent drow.
"Run thy sword across my chains, Silver Lady, that I may join your dance.”
@Brian: Belatedly, they would be under the house PvP rules. Easiest place to find those at this point would be in all the very first post/opener of the Echoes of the Coliseum threads.
Though to save some time for you: Spells of level-2 or higher which control allied creatures or which create summon or animate any creature (such as Conjure Elemental or Animate Objects) shall not be used in the arena. Class features which summon or control creatures (Such as Ranger's Companion or Battlesmith Defender, for example) may be used. The first level spell Find Familiar will also be permitted. Spells that do not actually create creatures (Such as Flaming Sphere) will be permitted as well.
@Glonster: An announcement will be made on both the glory and the massive group PM(which I still have to add you and Wysp to) when its your level brackets turn, and on which of the extended threads to go to. Currently gearing up for the level 5 and 9 match though, so may be some time. Your continued patience is appreciated. :)
The next match will feature any interested level-5 competitors. The match will begin in the next 48 hours. Or sooner, if all level contestants gather before then.
The next match will feature any interested level-3 competitors. The match will begin in the next 48 hours. Or sooner, if all level contestants gather before then.

That's wierd, I changed to Human. I wasn't even testing custom race on that character.

A tall male Tiefling walks into the arena. He has a lute on his back, and an odd ring on his finger. He has a graceful rapier at his side and three boomerangs on his belt. "They call me Jammer" he yells. {link https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/Glonster_Glamorhorn/characters/55024081
