Kairus's plan begins to crumble as Yulmiath goes back outside to join Rhogal in his struggle against the decapus. Ironically, the bard's words of encouragement are what propel the dragonborn and his greataxe forth. A near miss is avoided and the decapus almost loses one of its tentacles as a result. A small spark adds insult to injury. (Decapus takes 20 magical slashing and lightning damage.)
Staying put, Hun also lends a hand to the fight against the overgrown octopus. That support comes in the form of a wicker basket, which magically flies forward and nearly hits the enemy. Instead, it hits the gazebo's ceiling, shaking it thoroughly but damaging it only slightly. An amalgam of several serpents clumps to the grounds as a single unit, another piece to the convuluted fight. Hun then retreats indoors {LP-70}.
Mr. Thicc applies a more direct approach. He gets close to the decapus {LN-65} and punches it. The injuries are starting to slow the enemy down. (Decapus takes 8 force damage.)
"Really?" Everyone seemed to prefer the open air to the safety of the temple. "Well, it's not the first time. Let's trust in our mighty warriors, grandpa!" Kairus winked at Hun and aimed at one of the birds

Recovering from delivering one of the bird a decent thwacking, Krodhen does a double take as he sees Yul turn back and attack the Decapus again "What the.....make up your goddamn mind will you!!", and he once again chases after the barbarian, following his strike with one of his own (moves to LO65)
Rhogal, annoyed that the formerly ten-tacled foe shook off the fungus, closes the distance from it (to LO-65) and gives it a good what from the empowered staff.
Kairus changes his tune and joins the offensive. Another crossbow bolt is released followed by encouraging words to a compatriot; Yulmiath being the recipient this time (Bardic Inspiration). The projectile manages to hit the tip of a tentacle, making it an inch or two shorter. (Decapus takes 7 piercing damage.)
Not particularly invested in this fight, the nearby serpents move in conjunction in a random direction: 3 (3)
It just so happens to be the direction that puts the swarm in a collision course with the Decapus's tentacles. Riled from the recent crash-landing, the serpents strike:
Several snakes sink their fangs into the most reachable tentacle, which happened to be dragging on the floor. The decapus notices, and it is clear the strange creature is reacting badly to the snakes' venom. (Decapus takes 14 piercing and poison damage.)
Rhogal sees the opening created by Hun's newest pets and moves forward. A strike of his hardened staff follows shortly after the advance. Almost all of the beast's strength is sucked into the staff. After this strike, even if left alone, the decapus is bound to wither completely within minutes. (Decapus takes 25 magical bludgeoning and necrotic damage.)
-> Decapus will make a CON save {DC 15} against the Staff of Withering: 22
Krodhen is not about to let that happen. After advancing {LP-65}, the paladin channels divine energy again and explodes whatever remained of the ten-tacled (nice!) menace! (Decapus takes 17 magical bludgeoning and radiant damage and is DEFEATED.)
(@MuggsHill: I had to adjust Krodhen's placement on the map a bit since Rhogal also went to the original spot you picked.)
